Korum Automotive Group: Accounting Specialist

Korum Automotive Group is recruiting for an experienced Accounting Specialist to join our team!The Accounting Specialist is responsible for all assigned general accounting and filing duties, including but not limited to; the processing of vehicle sales/deals (“capping deals” including final calculations and information for Sales Consultants and Finance Consultants for payroll), auditing licensing documents for all vehicles, processing the purchasing of new and used vehicle inventory, processing dealer trades, and completing accounts payable and accounts receivable functions as assigned.

The Accounting Specialist also works with the Finance & Insurance (“F&I”) Department, customers, and service providers for the remittance and cancellation of F& I products and services (e.G., service contracts, GAP, maintenance contracts, etc.).

Performs various accounting analyses, research, projects, and completes general ledger account reconciliations in an accurate and timely manner.

An incumbent in this position will be expected to be cross-trained in all functions in the accounting department and the duties may be primarily assigned to an employee or rotated to ensure departmental coverage.Typical Duties May Include:Reviews the documentation received from the F& I Department for vehiclesales for accuracy and completeness, “caps” the deal to record the accounting, and assigns correct commission amounts for Sales Consultants and Finance Managers, with adjustments for any applicable incentive programs.

Reports discrepancies/errors to the applicable Finance Manager/Sales Manager timely, and ensures proper follow-up.Completes, submits, and follows-up on paperwork to claim rebates and incentives from manufacturers.Reviews auction purchase paperwork for completeness/accuracy, processes the payments for such purchases (including related services – frame, transport, etc.), creates new deal jackets and assigns stock numbers, and loads the vehicles into the dealership management systems (“DMS”).Reviews and audits title/licensing documents for each vehicle purchased/sold, and all vehicles in dealership inventory/courtesy loaner fleets.

Submits all legal transfer documents to the Department of Licensing.Audits the schedules for new and used vehicle inventory, wholesale and dealer traded vehicles, and licensing.Researches and disputes or pays vehicle infractions for dealership-owned vehicles including: parking tickets, moving violations, and toll tickets.Works with the F& I Department, customers,and applicable service providers for the remittance and cancellation of F& I products and services (e.G., service contracts, GAP, maintenance contracts, etc.).Performs various accounts payable responsibilities, including reviewing invoices and employee expense reimbursements for appropriate approval, coding, calculating discounts and ensuring timely payments and accurate recordkeeping.Maintains vendor records/files including system set up and maintenance, obtaining W-9 forms and completing required reporting (e.G., 1099 reporting, etc.).

Sends W-9 certificates to resale vendors.Maintains recordkeeping for charitable donations.Performs various accounts receivable duties including preparing billing statements and processing payments received and maintaining accurate records.Monitors accounts receivables and proactively contacts past-due accounts for payments.Desired Education/ Knowledge / Skills / Experience:High School Diploma or EquivalentCollege level Accounting Coursework or equivalents experience2+ years experience in a dealership preferredKnowledge of Microsoft Office ApplicationsAbility to learn dealership softwareAbility to prioritize work in a fast paced environmentThe Korum Automotive Group, located in Puyallup, Washington, is proud to have been awarded the President’s Awards for customer service excellence for Ford, Lincoln and Hyundai.
