Accounting Supervisor Washington

Chemical manufacturing company in Tumwater is looking for an Accounting Supervisor. The Accounting Supervisor will supervise the everyday operations of the Accounting Specialist I, Accounting Specialist II, and Accounts Receivable Clerk. The Accounting Supervisor will primarily be responsible for reviewing accounting transactions and preparation of business and occupation tax returns.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties as assigned.Preparation of city and state tax returns.Review expense reimbursements.Review customer invoices.Review and approve freight invoices.Review other accounting transactions, as assigned.Assist with the Account Transfer process.Assist Accounting Specialist I, Accounting Specialist II, and Accounts Receivable Clerk with daily operations.Provide backup to Accounting Specialist I and Accounts Receivable Clerk duties.Enter new customers.Prepare monthly reports, as assigned.Review monthly reports, as assigned.Assist with projects, as assigned.Maintain employee data according to company procedures.Keep workstation clean and assist with general office housekeeping.REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITYDetail oriented.Able to follow directions.Possess moderate computer skills.Able to communicate effectively.Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time.Ability working in a loud, distracting environment.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Supervise Accounting Specialist I, Accounting Specialist II, and Accounts Receivable Clerk.EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Undergraduate degree in Accounting and at least two years of accounting experience required.As a condition of employment, all selected candidates will undergo pre-employment checks, which may include but not be limited to a background check regarding criminal history, education, employment, and a drug test.Equal Opportunity Employer – minorities, females, veterans and individuals with disabilities are encouraged to apply.
