SUMMARY: Assumes responsibility and oversight for all accounting activities. Supervises duties of all Accounting (and Payroll) staff. Oversees employees performance and identifies training needs. Works extensively with all other departments to streamline the accounting function. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Supervisory responsibility, (in conjunction with the Controller, for all accounting staff, to include employee evaluations, counseling and/or discipline, approving absences or overtime, and making any recommendations for hiring, terminations, pay changes, job changes, and training. DUTIES: Assists the Controller with all the accounting functions for the organization. Supervision responsibilities for accounting staff, including recommendations for hiring, evaluation, training, disciplining, performance evaluations and terminations. Assists the Controller in the preparation of reports including, revenue audits, accounts payable, payroll, fixed assets, inventories, shipping/receiving, audits and bank statements. Preparation of/or assists with general ledger accounts reconciliations, including fixed assets ledger, insurance, taxes, property management, deferred expenses, bank lines and loans and leases, expense pro-ratios and allocations, prepays, budget variances, analysis and reports. Assists in the preparation of budget updates and reviews. QUALIFICATIONS: Four- year college degree with an accounting major required. CPA preferred. A minimum of two years accounting and supervisory/management experience is required.
