Accounting Specialist/Controller – FT/PT

This is a Full-time position in Sumner, WA posted May 2, 2021.

Vadis is looking for a detail-oriented, self-starting accounting specialist who has a passion for the challenges and rewards of nonprofit accounting.

You will be able to stretch your knowledge across all areas and play an integral role in the success of our company.

Your job duties will include:
• Prepare various accounting entries to general ledger, analyze GL entries, balance and verify GL accounts and reconcile as needed.
• Calculate, prepare and issue bills, invoices, account statements, and other financial statements according to established procedures.
• Assists in budget preparation and compiles information pertaining to budgets, accounts, inventories and other financial operations.
• Other accounting functions as required; i.e., bank reconciliation, cash deposits, quarterly report preparation, etc.
• Review and suggest updates to Fiscal Policies and processes to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
• Assist in monitoring grant funding and expenditures in conjunction with department managers.
• Prepare and produce reports such as balance sheets, income statements and totals by account. And, you will have plenty of opportunity for team projects, input, collaboration, and communications with great team members across five counties. Ideally, this is a full-time position with starting wage in the $23
– $25 per hour range.

Flexibility is requested as our Admin Team is heavily deadline driven. Proper COVID-19 protocol is important at Vadis.

While occasional remote work opportunities are possible following a training period, it is important to know that this position is not considered remote.

All safety precautions are taken, along with PPE needed to do your best work.

COVID-19 training and in-house communications are strong.Minimum requirements include two year post-secondary education in accounting; Four plus years’ experience with the following; general ledger accounting (balance sheet and income statement accounts), accounts payable, cost accounting principles, and balancing and reconciling accounts. You will hit the ground running in this position if you also have the following qualifications:
• Experience in Sage
