Arconic is currently in search of a Financial Accounting Specialist to join our Corporate Controllership group in Pittsburgh, PA.
The Financial Accounting Specialist is primarily responsible for assisting with various accounting and reporting aspects of the Company’s employee benefit plans, including pension and other postretirement, health and welfare, 401(k) savings, and stock-based compensation plans under U.S.
GAAP.
This role will report through the Controllership organization, and will work closely with the Controllership team, Financial Planning and Analysis, Human Resources, Investor Relations, and Business Unit colleagues.
Major Functions and Activities: Completing monthly financial closing functions (e.g., calculating and recording journal entries, conducting financial analysis, analyzing adequacy of reserves, etc.) Distributing employee benefit plan cost to the Company’s operating locations Performing monthly general ledger account reconciliations Assisting with the preparation of defined benefit pension plan financial statements, defined contribution plan (401(k) savings) Form 11-K filings, and Form 5500 Department of Labor filings Coordinating with various third-party vendors, including actuaries, trustees, recordkeepers, and external auditors Assisting with stock-based compensation accounting Conducting SOX and other self-assessment audit testing Contributing to external reporting function (Form 10-K/10-Q) Essential Knowledge and Skills: Energetic self-starter with the ability to work in a collaborative team environment Knowledge of U.S.
GAAP accounting and reporting requirements Excellent communication skills Experience in preparing employee benefit plan financial statements Possess strong: analytical skills to interpret and question data and other inputs; written communication skills; organizational skills to ensure maintenance and integrity of data; and attention to detail and precision to ensure accuracy of reporting Ability to: evaluate processes and implement efficiencies; work under stringent deadlines; and multi-task various responsibilities and deliverables Qualifications
– External Basic Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance from an accredited university Minimum 3 years experience in U.S.
GAAP accounting Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Preferred Qualifications: Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Minimum 2 years experience in employee benefits accounting and reporting Minimum 2 years of experience in public accounting, preferably a Big Four accounting firm Manufacturing experience with a concentration in the metals industry Experience with Oracle and Smart View applications
