Rainier is an iconic point in the Washington landscape. Our associates gain valuable experience here while meeting guests and coworkers from around the world, and in their free time they have a magical world of pristine mountain meadows, majestic waterfalls, peaceful old-growth forests, and much more to explore! Throughout the season we have regularly scheduled activities and day trips with transportation provided for associates, including trips to nearby adventures or cities like Seattle to visit Pike Place or catch a Mariners game! Employees with vehicles are only a short 2 hour trip away from exploring many destinations like Portland and Seattle on their own.Because of our unique location, room and board are provided to associates who do not live in one of our surrounding communities at a very low-cost via payroll deduction. Laundry facilities are provided at each dorm unit at no cost to employees. Employee meals are served in Employee Dining Rooms. We can also accommodate a limited number of RV units. All RV’s must be fully self-contained – no camper shells/vans, etc.Do you naturally reach out to help others, including guests and co-workers? If so, we want to hear from you!JOB SUMMARYHolds responsibility for accuracy of cash reserves, including full accountability for safe with operating funds, and initial accounting clerk functions at Paradise Inn. Provide excellent service to staff to enable them to promptly and accurate serve hotel guests. Complete multiple reports including cash, sales, over-rings, credit cards, etc. maintain office supplies, distribute employee and company mail, and train staff on cash handling and report completion. Fills in for Night auditor.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSAssist guests and employees through friendly interactions, answering questions, and completing tasksProvide administrative, reception, and program support to management, staff, and guestsCheck daily cash reports for completeness and accuracy; Verify readings, credit cards, checks, guest folios, etc.Train and assist cashiers, department leads, and others on daily cash reports, cash drops, cash handling, etc.Monitor and maintain accurate accounting of company safe and all moniesMaintain appropriate supply of office supplies and formsAccurately complete required reports on a daily basisResolve guest concerns and complaints within scope of authority; refer to management as appropriatePerforms such other related duties as directed or requiredWorks overnight to fill in for Night auditor’s days off.SKILL AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS INCLUDEHigh School Diploma/G.E.D. equivalent required; bachelor degree preferredClerical skills including typing, filing, office machine operations, cash register operation, maintenance of records, and the ability to undertake multiple tasks simultaneouslyComputer proficiencyDemonstrated talent for interacting with a wide variety of people; ability to effectively organize and coordinate multiple priorities; ability to learn and develop new skills; ability to problem solveStrong interpersonal, administrative, telephone and other communication skillsPhysical and Mental RequirementsMove about to accomplish tasks, particularly frequent movements from place to place.Bend, lift, carry, reach/extend arms and hands above shoulder height frequently, or otherwise move in a constantly changing environmentLift, carry, and push up to 10 lbs. regularly, 15-20 lbs. regularly, and up to 30 lbs. occasionallyAble to sit for extended periods and to climb steps occasionallySpeech recognition and clarity, including the ability to understand the speech of guests and co-workers and the ability to speak clearly to be understood by same in English; read and write work-related documents in EnglishStrong level of knowledge and comfort with Windows operating system and MS Office software requiredPhysical presence at the job site is essential to perform job dutiesEquipment UsedTypical office equipment (computer, phone system, fax, copier, scanner), cash register and credit card terminalPOS/PMS systemsGuest Services, Inc. is an Equal Opportunity / Affirmative Action employer.
