Founded in 2007, Initiate Government Solutions (IGS) a Woman Owned Small Business, specializes in healthcare information solutions with an emphasis on technology spectrum.

IGS partners with government and commercial clients to tackle the most challenging healthcare information technology issues including large scale implementations, business informatics, analytics, and electronic health record support.IGS is currently recruiting for the position of a full-time, RemoteSenior Staff Accountant to support management with the financial aspects of running the company.Assignment of Work and Travel:This is a remote access assignment.

Candidate will work remotely daily and will remotely access IGS systems and therein use approved IGS provided communications systems.

Regular travel is not required; however, the candidate may be required to attend offsite meetings as requested.

Description:The Senior Staff Accountant will assist in planning the business’s financial operations, as well as mind the company ledger while working with executive management to create and control budgets.

The Senior Staff Accountant will also be responsible for ensuring that actual business activities are in line with the organization’s plans by providing management with detailed, monthly financial reports.Responsibilities and Duties (Included but not limited to):Setting up prepaid and deferred revenue accountsBalance sheet account reconciliations, monthly bank reconciliations, monthly credit card reconciliationsPreparing ad hoc financial analysis reports for executive teamPrepare and maintain the corporate budget, project budgets and cash forecastPreparing monthly invoices to the clientReview and post expense reports, vendor invoices and process vendor paymentsReview and process annual 1099sConversion of books from accrual to cashInterfacing with various auditors and tax preparersFinancial statement preparation, including balance sheet and profit and loss, for review and presentationSetting up and managing people and projects in Unanet, including project burn reportsShould have experience managing payroll process, from timesheet screening and expense reimbursement to ultimate processing of payroll, review tax remittances, monthly/quarterly reconciliation of payroll reports, and year-end W2 review.Will prepare and review journal entries to record unbilled receivables, prepaid expenses, accruals, depreciation, and other entries to assist in monthly financialCandidate will interpret results of transactions and communicate necessary actions needed to comply with accounting standards and business proceduresEnsures financial standards, and legal requirements are met and managed for complianceProficiency in Microsoft Excel requiredShould be ready to start immediatelyOther duties as assignedRequirements: At least 10-15 years direct experience in general accounting, reporting and managing the close processBachelor’s degree (B.S.) in AccountingKnowledge and understanding of accounting theory, policies, practices/procedures3 years of current Unanet financials experienceExperience processing payroll in multiple states (Paylocity payroll experience a plus)Excellent customer service and organizationAbility to quickly multi-task and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environmentExcellent verbal and written communication skillsProactive and motivated self-starterAbility to manipulate, analyze, and interpret dataStrong organizational and communication skillsAccuracy, attention to detail, and the ability to multi-task/prioritize tasks appropriately to meet deadlinesAbility to work independently to identify resources and resolve issues encounteredPreferred Qualifications and Core Competencies:3 years of experience with government contracts and accounting (preferred)Understanding of DCAA, GSA and FAR as it relates to accountingMust be a self-starter with ability to work remotely as part of a team, or independently with little supervision or directionPlease note, proof of vaccination will be required upon hire and reasonable accommodations will be considered on a case-by-case basis.Initiate Government Solutions offers competitive compensation and a strong benefits package including comprehensive medical, dental and vision care, matching 401K, paid time off, flexible spending accounts, life insurance, disability coverage, an education assistance program, employee recognition program, spot bonuses, and other benefits that help provide financial protection for you and your family.Initiate Government Solutions participates in the Electronic Employment Verification Program.Initiate Government Solutions is an equal opportunity employer.
