This is a new position for this growing company.nn nn nn nnReports to: VP of Operationsnn nnLocation: Kennewick, WAnn nn nn nnPosition Summary:nn nnThe Senior Manufacturing Cost Accountant is a key role on the team as our client strives to reach its next level of accounting, finance, and operational excellence.

The position will report to the VP of Operations.

The primary role of the position will plan and implement a best-in-class manufacturing cost accounting system (the “System”).

The System will be comprehensive.

It will start with data on the manufacturing floor and feed to the highest-level financial reporting required.

The position will assist with the constant improvement of accounting and financial reporting functions.nn nn nn nnEssential Duties and Responsibilities:nn nnReview and improve the System to drive gross margin improvementnn nnIntegrate the System into the overall accounting and financial systems.nn nnAnalyze and improve cost standards for materials and labor.nn nnAnalyze production budgets, costs and make improvement recommendations.nn nnAnalyze manufacturing operations, equipment availability and utilization and make improvement recommendations.nn nnOversee annual and periodic physical inventory.nn nnAnalyze inventory values and suggest improvements.nn nnMaintaining and improving cost account system and ledger.nn nnReview and improve on month end cost accounting closing process.nn nnPrepare COGs, production, inventory, and other key monthly reports.nn nnAnalyze variances and communicates explanations to management with recommended improvement actions.nn nn nn nnAssist with overall profit improvement initiatives.nn nnAssist with managing all accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, G/L, Inventory/Cost Accounting and Revenue Recognitionnn nnAssist with hiring, training of cost and inventory accounting staffnn nnAssist with month-end closing and the preparation of monthly financial statements and other operational reports.nn nnAssist with estimating and verifying product costs to support quoting activities.
