Staff Accountant

SGL Carbon

This is a Full-time position in Moses Lake, WA posted April 2, 2021.

This is a salary non-exempt position; 40 hours per week, 8 hrs./day, dayshift Mon-Fri, however, incumbent must be able to work OT as required.

The Staff Accountant will coordinate and ensure full payroll cycle and perform accounting tasks. This position requires the incumbent to be pro-active, focus on details and accuracy and respecting deadlines.

Key Accountabilities

•Perform the full payroll activities within ADP and complete all mandatory reports
•Perform monthly accounting tasks for the period end closing such as journal entries and account reconciliations
•Support the finance team during internal / external audits
•Perform GL account reconciliations and expenses analysis as necessary
•Assist the finance team in the implementation and improvement of internal processes
•Actively support and supervise the monthly inventory cycle count process
•Reviews invoices for appropriate documentation and approval prior to payment.
•Uses SAP extensively to prepare purchase requisitions, etc.
•Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Job Requirements:

•Bachelor’s degree in accounting or significant related experience.
•Excellent Interpersonal skills including; courtesy, discretion, confidentiality and sound judgment.
•Skilled in the operation of various computer software; ability to learn ADP, SAP, excel and other required programs.
•Ability to effectively meet and communicate with the public/visitors/vendors/team members.
•Ability to make independent judgments which have minor impacts on the organization.

Preferred Qualifications

•Three or more years of related experience, showing progression in responsibilities.
•Experience with ADP or similar payroll software
•Experience with SAP.

This position works between an office environment and a plant environment. Requires working indoors in environmentally controlled conditions. Occasionally requires working outdoors or indoors in non-controlled conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
