Staff Accountant

Taos Ski Valley, Inc.

This is a Contract position in Seattle, WA posted September 26, 2022.

The Staff Accountant position will be primarily responsible for Property Management (PM) and group billing but will be assigned other general staff accountant tasks and duties as needed. This position will be responsible for preparing, recording, and reconciling transactions, as well as verifying expenses in the General Ledger. They will be responsible for assisting the Accounting Supervisor in the preparation of monthly owner statements and financial reporting packages for multiple entities. They will assist with the month-end close process for multiple entities. They will be the accounting contact for the Group Sales/Conference team and act as the liaison between the accounting department and all related internal departments for transactions related to group billing. In addition, they will assist in managing several balance sheet GL accounts and will ensure those accounts are accurate and reconciled monthly.

  • Bachelors of Science in Accountancy (preferred)
  • Bachelor’s degree in other areas of business or Associate’s in Accountancy (preferred)
  • Experience in the ski industry (preferred)
  • Experience in a property management accounting environment (preferred)
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and evenings.

Work Environment:

Taos Ski Valley, Inc. is often a fast-paced work environment, especially during Holiday and Peak days. TSVI is located in a high-altitude alpine environment. Position may require travel on uneven, snow-packed, or icy terrain and may be exposed to wet, cold, and/or humid conditions. Must be able to work in close quarters and with other staff.

Physical Demands of Position Include:

  • Requires ability to work on a computer for extended periods (+8 hours per day
  • Ability to lift boxes for filing purposes (up to 50 lbs.
  • +90% of time spent sitting
