Our well-established and highly respected construction client is looking for an Accounting / Administrative Assistant to join their team. This person will work with the accounting and project management teams in several areas including:

• Accounts Payable

• Equipment tracking and accounting 

• Job Cost accounting, budgeting, reporting, and change order reconciliation

• Intercompany/subsidiary transactions

• Reconciliation of vendor statements and customer payments

• Assist with special projects as requested

Required education and related experience:

• High school diploma and minimum 5 years of accounting related experience OR

• College degree and minimum 2 years of accounting related experience

Required skills and abilities:

• Attention to Detail: Ensure all accounts and payments are balanced and in order

• Computer Skills: Must be able to master Spectrum accounting software, and necessary Excel spreadsheets

• Math & Analytical Skills: Position requires someone who can both pay the bills and understand them, to be able to detect anomalies and be proactive towards solving problems

• Organizational Skills: Volume of work will vary depending on work on hand and season, ability to stay organized and maintain excellent company filing system is mandatory. Must be able to find documents for managers quickly and easily

• Communication Skills & Teamwork: Ability to interact professionally and efficiently with co-workers and business partners. Willingness to cross-train on other accounting functions to provide back-up for other accounting personnel

Position reports to Sr. Accounting personnel and the Company Treasurer

40 hours / week

Salary range: $20 +/- DOE.

Compensation package includes full benefits, 401K, and bonus potential.

Job Requirements:
– Familiar with Spreadsheet and ERP system

– Ability to enter data into various electronic systems while maintaining the integrity and accuracy of the data

– AA or BS/BA in Accounting or related field preferred

– 2+ years of accounting experience required

– Switchboard phone (1-10 lines) experience required

– Accounts Payable (AP) experience

– Strong familiarity with customer service

– Ability to multitask efficiently and prioritize work
