Telecommunications Administrator

Location: Renton, WA (On-Site)

Duration: Contract to Hire

 

Kelly Technology is currently recruiting for Telecommunications Administrator to work on-site at our client in Renton. The ideal candidate will have advanced Cisco Call Manager experience. A Cisco Collaboration certification is highly desired but not a requirement.

 

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Design, deploy, upgrade and maintain voice equipment across the enterprise
  1. Promptly notify Manager of problems, unexpected tasks and missed targets
  2. Actively pursue training and knowledge of new systems, and complete training programs as required
  1. Maintain the security of the Data Center systems and information, per VMC and departmental Information Privacy policies
  2. Support Manager in controlling expenses; provide input for budgeting departmental needs
  3. Provide after-hours support as necessary
  4. Participate in on-call rotation as scheduled
  5. Perform backups and restores of voice equipment – media gateways, voice mail, E911
  6. Use voice monitoring tools to evaluate performance, troubleshoot issues, monitor throughput and evaluate configurations
  7. Day to Day trouble-shooting of phone system, LAN, and WAN
  8. Maintain cabling infrastructure
  9. Work effectively with vendors and contractors to deploy and maintain voice systems
  10. Maintain network and telephony related documentation and associated database for disaster recovery as necessary
  11. Provide local and remote end user support
  12. Lead project teams to support network and communications implementations
  13. Review, understand and provide technical briefings of vendor manuals and documents
  14. Identify and implement process improvements for efficiency and greater stability

 

Unique Senior Telecommunications Administrator responsibilities:

 

  • Research and recommend application of new technologies
  • Deploy, maintain and support enterprise PBX and clinic equipment
  • Deploy, maintain and support PRI and call routing environment
  • Plan and manage major communications downtimes
  • Troubleshoot and lead recovery effort for major voice outages
  • Perform software / firmware upgrades for network and telephony equipment
  • Backup and restore network and telephony equipment
  • Design, upgrade, install voice solutions for business unit, application and clinic needs
  • Audit configurations, institute configuration standards, maintain equipment life cycles

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Minimum ten years (10) years of experience in the current or similar environment
  2. Demonstrated ability to install and troubleshoot voice and data networks and related equipment
  3. Experience with the following technologies: enterprise switching and routing, call flow, TCP/IP, SIP, RTP, RTCP, digital, analog and VoIP, vectors and phone trees, announcements, ARS routing, Cisco Unified Call Manager, Contact Center Express, feature access codes, DIDs, copper and fiber cabling, QoS, circuit types and voice mail
  4. Experience troubleshooting call quality issues
  5. Demonstrated understanding of IP numbering schemes and subnetting
  6. Experience designing and implementing  wired and wireless voice systems
  7. Experience with packet capture tools and analysis of voice packets
  8. Demonstrated knowledge of network and communications monitoring tools and utilities
  9. Experience with AVST voice mail, Brocade switches, Cisco switches and Cisco Unified Call Manager preferred
  10. Demonstrated continued professional development

 

SKILLS:

  1. Good troubleshooting skills to determine cause and take appropriate action to correct errors
  2. Ability to configure and install equipment to meet specifications
  1. Ability to work independently and in teams with good problem solving, communication, and organizational skills. Diligent, results-oriented work habits
  1. Ability to set priorities, produce accurate work, and meet deadlines; ability to function in a setting with a wide variety of duties and numerous interruptions
  2. Ability to work with a wide variety of technical and non-technical people
  3. Successful experience as Project team member  and project lead for multi-team projects
  4. Ability to mentor and provide training for others
