Human Resources Coordinator – Construction

As a member of our team, you will provide insight and innovative construction solutions to ensure the successful execution of various projects, such as: education facilities; hospitals and healthcare centers; office buildings; warehouse and distribution centers; and mixed
– use facilities.

You will also further hone your skills operating under various delivery methods including Bid-Build, Design-Build, Construction Management and IPD (Integrated Project Delivery).

Summary

The Human Resources Coordinator is responsible for providing administrative support to the HR Advisory Services and Recruitment teams, as well as providing front-line communication and customer service to a designated client group.

The Coordinator directly supports daily HR Advisory essential functions by managing workflows and processing HR Service Desk tickets, including the processing of new hires, separations, job changes, and transfers, and also supports the HR Department’s Talent Acquisition activities by performing entry level recruitment and administrative support.

The incumbent has knowledge of core HR principles and practices, including a fundamental understanding of recruitment, compensation and benefits, and learning and organizational development, and possesses strong attention to detail and a commitment to confidentiality and professionalism in accordance with company policies and procedures.

Essential Functions

Recruitment:
Manage college recruitment, scheduling career fairs, speaking at local universities and candidate tracking Execute Graham intern program, assess candidates for FT opportunities Attend interviews for intern and new grad candidates Phone screen as needed, schedule interviews and participate in in person interviews as needed
Transactional:
Execute VOE’s for mortgages and house closures Complete all unemployment claims and physical send back to WA state ESD Contest unemployment claims and attend hearings as necessary Steward workflow requests through the process, including accurate entry into the system, ensuring the necessary parties have received the information, and obtaining the required approvals.

Maintain completeness and accuracy of digital employee files.  Complete all transactional tasks: Manager changes Salary changes Cost center changes Letter creation and all track down/present all “approvals” as necessary Manage local vehicle program to ensure that new hires are receiving trucks or vehicle allowance All reporting, keeping EE folders up to date.

Onboarding:
Plan onboarding, execute HR/benefits portion, coordinate meetings and follow-ups with SME’s.

Tracks down, verify and complete I-9 documents for all new hires (salaried and hourly) Guide hourly employees to complete their new hire documents prior to hire (on site assistance as necessary) Guide hourly employees in terms of benefit enrollment during first 30 days
Performance Management:
Track all leaves: PFML, Sick day usage, unexcused absences Craft letters for return to work dates Collaborate with Advisor on high-risk strategies and notify when an employee has not returned
Employee Relations:
Handle or be entry conversation for employees discussing minor workplace issues/culture/performance.

Escalate as needed.

Compliance:
Complete annual EEO reporting Complete quarterly wages for multiple job site work environments Audit I-9’s, updating as necessary.

Additional duties as needed

Education, Experience and Knowledge
Certificate, diploma, or degree in HR.

2-3 years experience in HR or administration; experience in the construction, engineering, or heavy manufacturing industry is an asset.

Accuracy and attention to detail, and commitment to meeting deadlines.

Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

Commitment to principles and practices related to confidentiality and sensitivity.

Knowledge and proficiency with SAP.

Working knowledge of MS Office.
