This is a Full-time position in Seattle, WA posted June 11, 2021.

Under general supervision, perform journey-level work in the design, construction, repair and maintenance of structures; act as lead worker to other company staff and laborers in the area; and perform related work as required.SCOPE: The Carpenter is responsible for the full range of rough and finished skilled carpentry work, including cabinetry.

Successful applicants will work from blueprints, specification, drawings and instructions to design, build, remodel, retrofit, maintain and repair various types of structures; inspect completed work for conformance with specifications, requirements and compliance with applicable building and safety codes and regulations; inspect related work bysub-contractors; estimate cost, time andmaterials for carpentry projects.KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Designs, constructs, remodels, retrofits and repairs interior and exterior structures made of wood, drywall, plaster, concrete or brick.Cleans, maintains, adjusts, calibrates and services equipment used in the performance of duties.Monitors work done by outside contractors for adherence to state and federal Code Requirements and reports back to supervisor.Assists in the writing of specifications for corrections and new construction.SHARED RESPONSIBILITIES: Maintains appropriate work completion records by utilizing company build tracking softwareResearches, purchases and inventories equipment parts, chemicals and supplies, with prior approval by site supervisorTrains and directs the work of other company staff and laborers, as needed, in order to complete job duties and scope of given project.POSITION REQUIREMENTS: ABILITY TO:design, build, install, and repair structural woodwork, flooring, cabinetry, millworkoperate, maintain, and calibrate hand and power carpentry toolsread and comprehend plans and blueprintsrecognize and select appropriate lumber types and gradesmake rough sketchesestimate cost, time and materials of carpentry projectsperform heavy physical labor, train and direct the work of other staff in the given areafollow and give oral and written instructionsmaintain cooperative working relationship, demonstrate sensitivity to and respect for a diverse population, and submit to authority of site supervisors and company owners.KNOWLEDGE OF:methods, materials, tools and equipment used in both rough and finished carpentry in both residential and commercial/industrial settingsapplicable building and safety code requirementsmethods and practices followed in the maintenance of tools, machinery, and equipmentMINIMUM QULIFICATIONS: Graduation from high school*Minimum 3 years journey level experience working as a carpenter in a commercial, industrial, or facilities operations setting, including rough and finished carpentry.*SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Must have valid Washington State driver’s license and acceptable driving recordAbility to complete safety trainings, equipment specific trainings and certifications as requiredMust be able to perform physical activities such as, but not limited to, lifting equipment, bending, standing, climbing or walkingMust be able to safely use manual tools and power equipment common in the construction tradesMust be able to handle hazardous materials safely, as requiredJob Type: Full-timeExperience:Journey level experience working as a carpenter in a commercial, industrial, or fac: 3 years (Required)Education:High school or equivalent (Required)License:WA State Driver’s License (Required)
