(click here) OR check us out on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oPN86QvnkfUAt BMC, the dedicated Yard Forklift Operator / Load Builder is in an entry-level position responsible for the safe operation of a forklift with foot and hand controls to stock all lumber and building materials. This valuable individual will uphold and maintain the core BMC values as they work within established work and safety procedures.Major Responsibilities:* Accurately build safe & efficient loads of building materials by correctly reading pick tickets, delivery orders or invoices* Accurately & legibly complete appropriate paperwork per company policy* Load & off-load company trucks with building materials both by hand and with a forklift* Understand weight & length limits for company fleet as to safely & lawfully load trucks for delivery* Operates forklift safely at all times following all safety rules & regulations* Perform daily safety inspections on forklift & promptly report any malfunctioning equipment* Operate saw equipment intermittently* Assist in inventory and/or cycle counts as directed* Assist Customer Service Rep’s in filling orders of walk-in customers and maintain yard cleanlinessRequired Skills* Minimum Education: High school or G.E.D., Forklift Training and safety orientation.* Product knowledge for lumber and building materials, use a tape measure and hammer safely.* Majority of work is outside in working conditions that vary depending on seasons.* Temperature variations and inclement weather are real aspects of the work environment.* Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. with assistance, spend long amounts of time sitting, stooping, reaching, bending, climbing, standing or walking.* Frequently works overtime during peak business months.Required Experience* Minimum Experience: Up to 6 months experience in building materials or manufacturing facility or similar operating environment.
