Successful candidates will join the production team in our entry-level position; learning the manufacturing process of producing quality boxes for our customers. After 60 days worked the base employees receive the rate of the job performed; ex: entry level forklift operators receive $25.31/hr. The starting wage is $21.42/hr. for the first 60 days worked.RESPONSIBILITIES:Operate a forklift safely and efficiently moving corrugated sheets throughout the converting floor.Keeps stock and materials in orderly fashion.Move units of boxes, deliver pallets and raw materials to machine centers.Assists othermaterial handlers to balance the workload, organize warehouses, and perform general cleaning.Follows rules and procedures relative to the safe and efficient operation of the forklift, also including reporting any missing, broken, bent or worn parts of fork lift to supervisor and/or maintenance.Adheres to all safety and work rules, company policies and procedures.Other duties, responsibilities and activities may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice.When not utilized to operate mobile equipment, must be willing and able to perform the responsibilities such as operating machinery, unitizing product, setting up machines, troubleshooting, etc.BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:High school diploma/GED.1+ year prior experience operating a forklift.Minimumtwo year stable work history.Willing and able to work rotating shifts, daily overtimewhen needed and Saturday overtime.Ability to work in manufacturing environment, recognize sounds of moving equipment and machinery with varying temperatures based on season.Basic computer skills.Ability to obtain and maintain PCA certified forklift license.Willingness and ability to performWilling and able to lift/pull up to 45 poundsMust be authorized to work in the U.S.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:Forklift experience in an industrial and/or cold storage warehouse, manufacturing or equivalent environment.Mechanical aptitude to insure ability to perform other assignments.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple request simultaneously.Ability to work independently and within a team, effectively communicating with members.Willingness and ability to perform the job functions, following set procedures, and maintaining a clean, safe working environment.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Ability to read run sheets, factory orders and audit product.Ability to work in a fast paced, high volumeenvironment and handle multiple requests simultaneously.Ability to demonstrate good job attendance and punctuality.All qualified applicants must apply at Careers.packagingcorp.com to be considered.Other detailsPay TypeHourlyWallula, WA, USAPCA is an Equal Opportunity Employer – Veterans/Disabled and other protected categories.
