Regional Maintenance Mechanic – Carpenter & Painter

King County Housing Authority

This is a Full-time position in Redmond, WA posted February 15, 2021.

JOB SUMMARY:This position is open until filled; however, to ensure consideration applications should be received by February 18, 2021 at 4:30 p.m.The King County Housing Authority (KCHA) is a national leader in providing innovative and effective housing solutions so that people and communities can prosper.

KCHA is the largest landlord in the county, and annually, the agency serves over 55,000 low-income individuals. We transform lives through housing.

We are currently recruiting for two experienced and skilled journeyman level professionals to maintain, service and repair the housing units as part of our North Regional Crew based out of Redmond, Washington.

One position will focus on carpentry and the second on painting.

Additional work will also include electrical, building HVAC work, and responding to over-time calls (as needed).

These positions are represented by the Seattle King County Building Trades Council.

These are for journey level work maintaining, servicing, repairing, and upgrading public housing residential units; appliances and equipment; and housing properties. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Click here for additional details regarding this job classification specification.

QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES:Required Qualifications:High School diploma or GED ANDJourney Level status in a building and/or construction trade ANDTwo years of experience in construction and/or maintenance of residential buildings.

Equivalent combination of education and experience will be substituted on a year for year basis for experience qualification.

Special Requirements:Consent to and pass a driver’s and criminal records background check.Must possess a valid driver’s license in order to travel regularly between work sites.Consent to and pass a Physical Abilities Test and required assessments.
