Learn more about this agency ResponsibilitiesA GS-2210-11, IT SPECIALIST (CUSTOMER SUPPORT):Manages the assigned IT/communications environment with privileged access at the network level for the Wing, Geographically Separated Units (GSU), and Tenants.Serves as a focal point for ensuring functionality and operability of the assigned IT/data systems/functions, voice and wireless systems to support mission requirements of Wing, Geographically Separated Units (GSU), and Tenants.Provides customer technical assistance and support for all users.

Provides ongoing technical support to customers to ensure proper functional use of equipment and programs and to preclude undue interruptions to IT and communications services.Determines customer requirements and assists customers by recognizing and analyzing trends and providing instruction and orientation services.Conducts feasibility studies to identify and analyze system failures and analyzes data to determine if trends exist which forecast the need for future replacement or modification of system hardware and software.Coordinates frequency needs with command level spectrum management office to maintain current allocations and obtain new authorizations.Installs, maintains, and repairs hardware devices supporting a broad range of information and communications systems.Other duties as assigned.* The above duty description doesn’t contain all details of the official position description.

Qualifications GENERAL EXPERIENCE: N/ASPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have at least one year of specialized experience at the next lower GS-grade (or equivalent).

Specialized experience is experience that has equipped the applicant with the particular competencies/knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position and is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled.

Such experience is typically gained in the IT field or through the performance of work where the primary concern is IT.

The employing agency is responsible for defining the specialized experience based on the requirements of the position being filled.

Education Education Requirements:High School Diploma or GED.Substitution of Education for Specialized Experience:Ph.D.

or equivalent doctoral degreeor3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D.
