Instructional Designer/Multimedia Team Lead with Security Clearance

Instructional Designer/Multimedia Team Lead Job Summary: Valiant Integrated Services, a leader in the Defense Services industry is looking for an experienced, highly skilled Instructional Designer to lead our Multimedia Video Production and Editing Team delivering learning experience products and services for a United States Army Mission Training Complex. The successful applicant will use their skills and experience to effectively liaise with government staff, contract employees and subject matter experts to design, develop and deliver quality, effective training products and engaging learning experiences to a worldwide military audience, through a task-determined mix of video, audio, computer-enabled and print media. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: • Serves as the primary point of contact with our government customers to determine instructional requirements and priorities, and to develop an appropriate training solution.
• Communicate instructional objectives to team members and supervise content creation.
• Manage scheduled In Process Reviews (IPR) to assess progress and reassign/reallocate resources as necessary to complete projects on schedule. • Publish completed projects to appropriate Army learning portals.
• Visualize instructional graphics and other multimedia solutions, user interfaces, and finished products.
• Conduct research and analysis to be able to apply tested instructional design theories, practices, and methods to enhance adult learning experiences. Experienced with pre- and post-training evaluations of learner skills, and long-term evaluations of learning persistence.
• Supervises creation of supporting materials/media (audio, visual, simulations, eLearning modules, decision-making exercises, etc.) and develops assessment instruments. Minimum Job Requirements: • Bachelor’s degree in instructional design, educational technology or similar, or five years’ of demonstrated, progressive experience in instructional design, instructional technology and lesson and curriculum planning • Current or Active SECRET clearance
• Experience-based understanding of adult learning principles and of current and emerging Instructional System Design methodologies, from ADDIE to Agile Development to Successive Approximation
• Experienced with customer needs analysis and training solution design
• Experience-based understanding of training video production and eLearning development processes. Experienced platform instructor in one or more venues (e.g., military, corporate, academic)
• Three to Five years’ recent experience with non-linear video editing systems (e.g., Adobe Premiere, Sony Vegas Pro, Apple Final Cut Pro, AVID Media Composer, etc.)
• One to Three years’ recent experience with eLearning authoring applications (e.g., Articulate Studio or 360, Lectora Inspire, iSpring Studio Max, Adobe Captivate, etc.)
• Visual design skills using Dreamweaver, Photoshop, and Illustrator
• Ability to create effective instructional text, audio/video scripts and storyboards
• Experience-based understanding of effective web design principles, basic HTML 5 and CSS programming knowledge
• MS Office Power User, especially MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint
• Position requires close customer contact and the ability to work independently and creatively Desirable Qualities: • Understands and implements User Interface/User Experience (UI/UX) best practices for online training products
• Working knowledge of Learning Management Systems (LMS) and Learning Experience Platforms (LXP), as well as common packaging/formatting standards (e.g., SCORM 2004, xAPI and/or cmi5).
