Title UX Designer II Location Seattle, WA Duration Long-Term As an Experience Designer specializing in Experience Writing you will support teams of Experience designers, writers, researchers, strategists, product managers, and engineers to create compelling human centered experiences across digital and physical touchpoints. Your role will be pivotal in shaping and defining Best Buyrsquos customer experiences, will help to establish how our brand voice comes to life across channels, and help to define content strategies which address customer needs. You will participate in defining and facilitating discovery efforts, be responsible for the communication of design intent, and advocate for continuous improvement of experiences. Project Description Work with Experience Design, product managers, engineering leads, and business stakeholders to gain alignment on solutions and align customer and business needs. Create appropriate Experience Design deliverables to support the work effort of teams and to ensure standard design practices are utilized and overall experiences are consistent. Participates in the presentation of high-level solutions and strategies to product andor project stakeholders, engineering leadership, and Experience Design leadership. Supports and facilitates applicable research and testing activities within area of responsibility. Leverage customer research, site metrics, and usability findings to back up assertions, make recommendations, and drive strategy. Participate in and help to lead UAT and team development and launch support activities. Assist teams in defining the supporting strategy across product teams to create multi-channel experiences that reach into digital and physical touchpoints. Foster and participate in a culture of collaboration, feedback, and continuous improvement. Skills Overview What are the top five skills and number of years of experience required to perform this job? Current portfolio of work that demonstrates knowledge and skill in experience writing. 2 or more years of experience as an Experience Writer or Experience Designer specializing in writing or 6 or more years in a Experience Writing related role (e.g. Experience Writer, Copywriter, Product Designer, Information Architect, Visual Designer, Interaction Designer, Researcher, etc.) Advanced knowledge of Experience Design principles and deliverables (i.g., designs, wireframes, prototypes, etc.). Advanced ability to communicate writing and design concepts effectively, build consensus, and justify decisions. Ability to work through complex design solutions and understand the technology behind those solutions. Ability to effectively manage multiple projects. Basic understanding of designing for Accessibility Standards WCAG508. History of proactive communication, storytelling and interpersonal skills. Experience balancing the agile work environment and iterative product development while maintaining a cohesive and holistic view of the overall customer journey. What are some preferrednice to have skills the manager is looking for? Bachelorrsquos Degree (4 yr.) in Human-Centered Design, Product Design, Human Computer Interaction, Graphic Design, Information Architecture, Multimedia, Communication, Marketing, Journalism, Instructional Design, related field, or equivalent industry experience. 2 or more years of experience working in Ecommerce or other large, multi-channel design environment. Strong skills in organizational savvy, ability to handle multiple efforts, attention to detail, relationship-building, strong communication skills, and high accountability. Experience in envisioning, defining and modeling end-to-end, multichannel customer experiences. Be curious, collaborative, self-driven, self-aware, outgoing, and relationship focused. Ability to seamlessly alternate between dealing with highly technical teams and non-technical business teams.
