Today SpaceX is actively developing the technologies to make this possible, with the ultimate goal of enabling human life on Mars.HARDWARE DEVELOPMENT ELECTRICAL ENGINEER, FAILURE ANALYSIS (STARLINK)The Hardware Failure Analysis team is dedicated to making improvements to the production quality of our groundbreaking constellation of Starlink satellites by collaborating across all Starlink production, engineering, and supply chain groups.

This is a high-visibility, hands-on role and engineers on this team are responsible for solving systemic production issues of avionics, running root cause of failures from end to end, and working to drive process changes for continually improving product quality.

Engineers in this role are expected to become intimately familiar with the circuits, manufacturing processes, and test procedures for the designs they support.RESPONSIBILITIES:+ Drive root cause of production yield issues and improve delivered avionics hardware quality+ Serve as front line avionics engineering support for Starlink production+ Perform hands-on debugging of failed avionics PCBAs and determining root cause of failures+ Work with suppliers to implement corrective actions to improve yield, quality, and reliability+ Document failure modes and use data to continually improve quality+ Partner with test engineering team to improve yield and test coverageBASIC QUALIFICATIONS:+ Bachelor’s degree in electrical or computer engineering+ Experience working with digital or mixed-signal designs and using oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, power supplies, and soldering equipment (internships and school projects included)PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:+ 1+ years of industry experience (internships included)+ Familiarity with programming and automation/scripting languages or ability to quickly learn them (Python, C++, SQL, etc.)+ Proficiency at understanding PCB schematics and layout+ Experience troubleshooting electronics hardware+ Experience presenting findings to engineering, production, and supply chain teams on a regular basis to drive corrective action+ Experience with automated production test methods such as flying probes or ICT+ Experience with Mentor Graphics Xpedition+ Experience in a fast-paced, iterative design environment within the consumer electronics, mobile handset, and medical devices, aerospace, marine or automotive industries+ Experience with PCBA manufacturing processes and assembly such as SMT reflow, wave solder, and selective solderADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:+ Must be willing to work long hours and weekends as neededITAR REQUIREMENTS:+ To conform to U.S.

Government space technology export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) you must be a U.S.

citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C.

1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S.
