nn nn nThe Enterprise Information Architecture (EIA) team is responsible for delivering business value by defining and organizing information through best practices in enterprise information modeling, taxonomy and controlled vocabulary development, and advanced semantic search & discovery.

This role is an opportunity to apply your passion for data with the art of information architecture supporting strategic business initiatives in customer behavior and personalization and defining and delivering advanced linked data and knowledge graph-based semantic solutions.

nn nn In support of Starbucks’ strategic business and enterprise information architecture initiatives, we are looking for a hands-on Information Architect Lead to work closely with business and technology stakeholders to support strategic business data initiatives as well as define and develop an advanced semantic information architecture framework to organize and extend enterprise information architecture across a broad and diverse data environment.

nn nn Summary of Key Responsibilities nIn this role, the Information Architect Lead will drive cross-functional collaboration in driving business and technology innovation in knowledge management and advanced analytics as well as providing guidance on best practices and standards in information management, agile data governance, and modern data security and protection.

As part of enterprise modeling support, this role will be involved in the functional and business workflow analysis, conceptual and logical data model development, taxonomy and controlled vocabulary development, and applying semantic web standards to encode detailed information and relationships using RDF and OWL based ontologies. nn nn Basic Qualifications n Leadership Across Multiple Domains nn Ability to mentor data modelers and information architects in their career journey Ability to work and lead with a mixed group of partners and contingent team members Ability to work with various stakeholders to define and develop conceptual and logical data models Work closely with multiple engineering teams to review and revise structures based on business requirements Experience translating taxonomy and metadata expertise into actionable business capabilities  Ability to engage with stakeholders and elicit data needs and information requirements in a dynamic environment Ability to create and maintain relationships with key stakeholders in both business and IT Self-directed and able to make impact in a short time.  Able to create detailed project workplans and justify estimates of work Hands-on experience defining and developing conceptual and logical data models using common frameworks Advanced knowledge of SQL queries, relational database modeling, entity normalization, and dimensional models Demonstrated experience developing enterprise ontologies and taxonomies using RDF & OWL semantic standards Experience with advanced metadata architecture design and implementation  Experience in developing and integrating strategies for data analytics and data lake platforms Knowledge of graph-based data repositories including triple-store (RDF) and LPG based graph architectures Experience working in a cross-functional role collaborating with business and technology stakeholders nn Education nn Master’s degree in Information Science, Knowledge Management, Information Management, or equivalent professional experience Overall data & information technology experience – 12 years Data engineering and transformation – 7 years Catalog and classification systems – 7 years Information Systems design and configuration – 7 years Master Data and metadata integration design and configuration – 3 years Data Lake and Data Warehouse Systems design and configuration – 5 years Advanced systems modeling or knowledge graph/ontology engineering – 5 years  nn Preferred Qualifications nn Excellent communications skills presenting architecture topics to multiple levels of business and technology stakeholders Experience in building an information architecture products and services roadmap and capabilities in a retail environment Experience working and leading agile-based software development teams using tools like JIRA and Azure DevOps Experience in training and educating master data and metadata management and its associated value Proven ability to prepare technical presentations and communicate to upper management Experience with working with source control management (GitHub) and common CI/CD frameworks Experience developing integration strategies for metadata management and master data platforms such as Collibra Experience in developing integrating strategies for data analytics and data lake platforms Ability to thoroughly understand complex business and technical issues and influence decision making at all levels of the organization without formal reporting structure authority Advanced information modeling using RDF and OWL using common semantic modeling tools such as Protégé, etc.
