In this role, you are a critical influencer providing thought-leadership on technical directions and a key contributor to new platforms that support key initiatives. You are also a mentor to other developers, both directly and via your daily actions. Strong communication, ability to influence, tackle sophisticated problems, and leadership ability while being a team player are a must!What we’re looking for:* Expert knowledge of Infrastructure as Code, Terraform or CloudFormation* Deep foundational knowledge of software engineering practices, particularly on distributed systems and cloud native architectures.* Excellent verbal and written communication skills, feeling as comfortable addressing executives as they are to the team.* High emotional intelligence with the ability to bring diverse groups together to tackle common goals.* Pragmatic and customer / value focused on solutions rooted in modern DevOps practices.* Highly passionate about delivery, being comfortable with both providing technical direction as well as being a contributing member of the team.* Ability to be strategic as well as going deep on complex technical problems.* Leadership / mentorship in a highly collaborative, multi-discipline software development team environment* Experience in micro service architecture and RESTful Services using languages such as Java, Node, Scala, or Python* Experience working with NoSQL data stores like Cassandra, DynamoDB, or MongoDB* Experience working with relational data stores like MySQL and Oracle* Experience with monitoring and tracing tools like Splunk, SignalFx, and New Relic* Experience with continuous integration (CI), unit testing, static analysis, and automated integration tests (continuous delivery (CD) experience is preferred)* Comfortable working with globally distributed and diverse teams* Experience working closely with Cloud Service Providers to drive technical direction of their Cloud platform and service offering* Experience in contributing to and driving opensource projects* Evangelize with partner and customer teams to promote adoption of cloud technology/distributed architecture best practices* Dedication to and hands-on experience in performing technical code reviewsQualifications:* A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience or 7+ years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree* Dedication to and hands-on experience in performing technical code reviews* 5+ years in a lead engineering role responsible for architecture decisions and direct technical leadership over engineering teams focused on delivering enterprise scale systems.* 8+ years in systems software development using common programming languages including but not limited to Java, Python and Go.NIKE, Inc. is a growth company that looks for team members to grow with it.
