Job duties of the HR Generalist:
Screen, recruit, and interview potential employees
Partner with supervisors/managers in handling conflict resolution, corrective and disciplinary actions as well as assist in conducting workplace investigations with union and non-union employees
Interpret and enforce company policies and ensure compliance with Federal and State employment, labor, safety, and environmental (includes OSHA & EPA) regulations.
Coordinate training programs to ensure legal compliance such as workplace violence, diversity, anti-harassment, Employee Assistance, off and on-site seminars, etc.
Provide management with requested reports and documents
Preferred Qualifications of the HR Generalist:
Previous experience in Human Resources, recruiting, or other related fields
Knowledge of labor and employment laws
Fluency in Spanish strongly desired!
Prior union experience a plus
Ability to build rapport with employees at all levels of the organization
