Microsoft Cloud Hardware Infrastructure Engineering (CHIE) is the team behind Microsoft’s expanding Cloud Infrastructure and responsible for powering Microsoft’s “Intelligent Cloud” mission.

CHIE delivers the core infrastructure and foundational technologies for Microsoft’s over 200 online businesses including Bing, MSN, Office 365, Xbox Live, Skype, OneDrive and the Microsoft Azure platform globally with our server and data center infrastructure, security and compliance, operations, globalization, and manageability solutions.

To achieve this goal, the Cloud AI & Advanced Systems Engineering (CAASE) team is instrumental in defining and delivering operational measures of success for hardware manufacturing, improving the planning process, quality, delivery, scale and sustainability related to Microsoft cloud hardware.

We are looking for seasoned engineers with a strong passion for customer focused solutions, insight and industry knowledge to envision and implement future technical solutions that will manage and optimize the Cloud infrastructure.We are looking for a Senior System Engineer to join the team.  #CAASE   #AZURE  #CloudResponsibilitiesThe CAASE Engineering and Solutions team is seeking passionate, driven and intellectually curious engineers to join our platform design team covering power and performance studies, including projections, architectural and circuit simulations, what-if analysis and direction setting for our programs. This new team will be involved in numerous projects within Microsoft for a diverse set of systems.  We are responsible for delivering cutting-edge, custom SoC designs that can perform complex and high-performance functions in the most efficient manner. In these high impact roles on the team, you will be responsible for a subset of: Work with business, architecture and design teams to understand PNP requirements and collaborate with silicon, system engineers and customer teams to meet these needs.Analyze application data and optimize applications for server use-cases, optimize for performance.

Analyse power constrained performance bottle necks at system level in CPU core to memory and mesh.Establish pathfinding converged methodologies to drive system power and performance validation across various products in post-silicon environment by collaborating with SoC and system performance architects, System design, and SoC functional validation teams.

Establish the power and performance critical areas across various SoC and platform validation swim-lanes and drive requirements to improve post-silicon validation cycles.Provide technical leadership to debug across SoC, System and FW BIOS working with cross-geo, global teams to drive architecture, design, optimizations to meet performance targets.Provide technical leadership and collaborate across teams to come up with the best solution possible with a One Microsoft mindsetApply your growth mindset to learn and adapt in a complex and dynamic environment.QualificationsBS/MS in Electrical or Computer Engineering or relevant working experience5+ years of experience as systems engineer for platform validation, architectural trade-off analysis and architectural based simulation tools and methods Preferred QualificationsDeep understanding of Silicon, platform design and manufacturing processes to arrive at the best design trade-offs to best direct technology solutions (PnP)Expertise in platform design and simulation tools & flows, as well as other industry standard simulation tools for PnP analysis.Excellent communication, collaboration and teamwork skills and ability to contribute to diverse and inclusive teams.Fundamental knowledge of the following HW design principals: Signal Integrity, Power and Peformance Design, Computer ArchitectureKnowledge of high-volume server design and manufacturing is desired.Excellent debugging skills.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
– cross-group and cross-culture collaboration. Demonstrated ability to perform in a high paced product development environment.  Willing to travel internationally up to 15%. Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role.
