The successful candidate will work with structural, mechanical, and electrical engineers and designers on designs for USACE and other clients. You will be assisting Project Engineers and Project Managers with a variety of design, engineering and drafting tasks. This role will provide a strong foundation for translating design into construction documents for water resource and navigation projects such as lock and dams; hydraulic structures such as gates and valves, and bridges.Job Responsibilities:Assist in the preparation of construction documents including plans, specifications, and opinions of costAssist in the preparation technical reports in support of projectsProcess shop drawings and submittalsPrepare supporting documents under the direction of the Project ManagerRead and edit technical documentsPerform quantity take-offsCall vendors for product information including cost and lead timePrepare structural design calculations, utilize structural design softwareYou’ll Bring These Qualifications:Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, Project and PowerPointKnowledge of AutoCAD or MicroStation a plus but not requiredFacility with structural modelling softwareEntering Junior or Senior year in a University degree program for Civil/Structural EngineeringStrong written and verbal skillsExcellent problem-solving abilitySound time management skillsSelf-MotivatedValid driver’s license About Tetra Tech: Tetra Tech combines the resources of a global, multibillion-dollar company with local, client-focused delivery in more than 400 locations around the world.
