The successful candidate will have a strong background in public health and understanding of communicable disease management, health service delivery, education, prevention, program management, and administration.

The Division Director will be the senior leader of the division and a member of the departments Executive Team, reporting at will to the Department Director.
The Division Director will be responsible for directing and managing foundational public health programs and services such as disease investigation and control, outbreak management, testing/laboratory, case management, syringe services, opioid response, epidemiology, data and assessment, immunization, education, and other public health and social service programs and projects as assigned.
The Division Director oversees, guides, and manages the performance of a growing division of diverse, talented public health team members, and must successfully manage and monitor a complex multi-million dollar budget, serving as the disease control and prevention subject matter expert, division spokesperson, and policy advisor.
The Division Director is responsible for planning, organizing, directing, and administrating the operations of the Disease Control and Prevention Division, including enforcement, reporting, record keeping, communications, and compliance with all federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and policies.
For a complete job description, please click HERE.EXAMPLE OF DUTIESBachelor of Science degree in public health, nursing, environmental studies, nutrition, health education, or related field.Five (5) years of experience in public health management, including experience in environmental health, community mobilization, nursing, health education, nutrition or clinical service delivery.
At least three (3) years public health experience at the supervisory level.Ability to utilize a personal computer with applicable software to perform the essential functions of the position.Current Washington State Driver’s License or have requested and obtained an appropriate accommodation.Incumbent must pass a background check.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSOur ideal candidate will possess the following:Knowledge of Incident Command System (ICS), HIPAA/confidentiality laws and record keeping, clinical services, public health field experience, electronic health record systems, Medicaid administrative match billing, public speaking/teaching, technical writing, policy development, etc.
