Intake Clinician OR Intake Nurse (RN), Evening Shift, Part Time

Join us as we work to change lives and transform the delivery of healthcare.We are seeking an Intake Clinician OR Nurse to join our Intake and Assessment team located in Kirkland, WA.

Our intake team handles hospital, DCR, and provider referrals for all three of our local campuses as well as inquiry calls from community members across the state who are seeking services.The intake work environment is dynamic and rewarding with many opportunities for creative problemsolving and using your clinical skills in crisis situations.

We are looking for dedicated individuals who are able to manage their workload independently while also maintaining the flexibility to step in to help the team effort.

The ideal candidate has strong interpersonal, phone, and assessment skills.This position is a part-time evening shift position with alternating weekends, working from 3pm to 11:30pm.Please apply to learn more!

QualificationsEducation:Masters degree in social work or mental health related field; OR a Registered NurseExperience:A minimum of two (2) years’ experience in social work or a mental health setting.

Familiarity with WA state mental health system is preferredAdditional Requirements:Active WA State License LICSW, LMHC, LMFT, or RN.

(Associate’s licenses also accepted)Must be able to complete CPR, 1st Aid, Handle with Care, and Verbal De-escalation trainings upon hireKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIESKnowledge of basic assessment and referral techniques.Experience with payor resources and financial planning for mental health care.Previous use and understanding of statistical reporting.Knowledge of community resources relating to patient care.Skilled in telephone etiquette, paging, and voice mail procedures.Effective oral and written communication skills.Ability to operate in an unstructured/ambiguous environment, orchestrate a myriad of activities and manage multiple priorities within complex systems while dealing with uncertainty and change.Strong communication skills allowing for effective communication with patients, family members, referral sources, managed care and insurance companies, and co-workers.Adherence to safety policies and procedures and ability to use good judgement and maintain confidential information.Recognition of the need to and importance of adapting to various patient demographicsAbility to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.PHYSICAL, MENTAL, AND SPECIAL DEMANDSAbility to stand, or walk up to six hours; sit for up to two hours.Ability to occasionally push/pull wheeled carts up to 200 lbs.

(i.e.

Crash carts, patients on stretchers or in wheel chairs).Ability to frequently lift and carry up to 10 poundsAbility to handle hazardous/infectious waste on an occasional basis.Ability to work in an environment where the noise level is frequently high; where chemicals are frequently used in cleaning; where mechanical and electrical hazards may occasionally be present; and where dust, mist and steam are frequently generated in housekeeping tasks.Ability and knowledge of how to respond when exposed to blood and body fluids.
