The Home Health Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant/COTA conducts treatments as assigned by the OT and outlined in the treatment plan to patients in their place of residence.

* Conduct treatments associated with functionality, activities of daily living/ADL’s, and fine motor coordination based on the patient’s physical, social, and cultural environment.* Monitor patient’s response to intervention and consult with the Occupational Therapist if modification is required.* Train and educate patient, family, and caregivers in the use of adaptive equipment and environmental modifications.* Assist the OT in the evaluation process and in identifying short-term and long-term goals and treatment plans.* Graduate of an ACOTE accredited 2 year associate OTA degree program.* Must possess a current, unencumbered, active license to practice as a COTA in this state.* Current CPR Certification.* Minimum 1 year recent work experience as a COTA.* Must have a valid driver’s license and current automobile insurance.* Basic understanding of age-related differences in caring for and communicating with patients and caregivers.* Ability to meet productivity expectations, organize tasks and manage time effectively.* Work independently without supervision, and use good judgment in difficult situations.* Possess personal sensitivity to the needs and experiences of others and a non-judgmental attitude towards persons of differing standards, values, lifestyles, and ages.
