Process Science & Technology (PS&T) develops manufacturing platforms to enable current and new product formats, increased product control, lower cost, and lower operational complexity. The PS& T organization works to accelerate the development and implementation of novel technologies to CTDO for integration into existing drug product platform processes. Job DescriptionThe Process Science and Technology of Cell Therapy is seeking a collaborative and enthusiastic scientist to join the Gene Editing and Delivery TCoE team for developing novel cellular immunotherapies. The successful candidate will support the gene editing platform development for autologous and allogeneic cell therapy programs. S/he will be an integral part of the multidisciplinary team dedicated for emerging platform and technology development. The position will require experimental design, execution, data collection, data analysis, drafting of technical reports, and presentation of results in the technical team meetings. This role provides great opportunities not only to grow subject matter expertise but also to interact with multiple project teams and cross-functional stakeholders. Duties and ResponsibilitiesDemonstrate ability to effectively work in cross functional teams, meet deadlines and prioritize multiple projects to support IND enabling studiesWork with CMOs and internal functional team to support gene-editing reagent developmentWrite technical reports, including development reports and Standard Operating ProceduresPerform data-driven decision making and troubleshootingPlan strategically to align with higher level goalsWork closely with process development scientists to support at scale gene-editing experimentsTimely report project status and resource/risk analysis to direct management EducationPh.D. in Virology, Immunology, Bio/chemical Engineering, or a related discipline with minimum 2 years of relevant postdoctoral or industrial experience. M.S. in virology, immunology, bio/chemical Engineering, or a related discipline with minimum 8 years of relevant industrial experience. Experience and SkillsStrong expertise in gene editing on human primary T cell or iPSC using CRISPR-Cas9 or related technologies.Experience with viral (lentivirus and AAV) or non-viral gene delivery methods Proficiency in laboratory bench skills such as with nucleic acid (DNA and RNA) purification, multi-color flow cytometry, cell sorting, ddPCR, qPCR, Sanger sequence and next-generation sequencingExtensive experience with developing and optimizing gene-editing reagent.Familiarity with statistical analysis and design of experiments (DoE)Experience with writing technical documents for interdepartmental use and CMOsExperience working with a multi-disciplinary group in a cross-functional environment.Experience with coaching junior membersExcellent communication and interpersonal skills demonstrated in a team environment.Experience with technical project management and leading ad-hoc or small team is a plus.
