DescriptionNaphCare has an excellent opportunity for a Certified Medical Assistant/Administrative Assistant to join our team!

The Certified Medical Assistant (MA)/ Administrative Assistant (AA) works under the direct supervision of the Health Services Administrator (HSA), Director of Nursing (DON), and Registered Nurse(s) (RN).

The MA/AA is responsible for providing routine clinical tasks as assigned.

State Certification is required for Certified Medical Assistants.Position RequirementsHigh school diploma or GED certificateCurrent, unrestricted certification as a Medical Assistant in the state of employmentMinimum of 1 year clinical experience in a healthcare setting, with correctional healthcare experience preferredWorking knowledge of Microsoft Word and ExcelMinimum typing speed of 45 words per minuteValid CPR cardPerformance ExpectationsPerform routine blood drawing procedures as applicable by licensureTake and document vital signs, height and weight and assist with PPDs and EKGs as requiredAssist with examinations and/or treatments as needed and report all changes in patients’ conditionsAssist with patient hygiene, ambulation, and dressing changesReceive and route visitors and inquiries and issues to the appropriate staffTransmit correspondence and medical records via mail, email or faxPerform various clerical and administrative functions, including ordering and maintaining an inventory of supplies and sorting and distribute all mail and interoffice correspondencePerform bookkeeping duties, such as preparation of expense reports and maintaining petty cash and receiptsTransmit and maintain all medical claims and all subpoenas and/or medical record requests as requiredAssist with staff scheduling and coordinate all meetingsPrepare and maintain monthly reporting and statistical data as requiredGather and maintain documentation required for all accreditation surveysNotify critical information to the next level of management that may have a negative impact on client and/or vendor relations or patient careIf you want a career that will make a difference, choose the company that is different.
