Come join our team today.JOB DESCRIPTIONCertified Medication AssistantJOB TITLE: Certified Medication Assistant CENTER: Royal Park Health and RehabREPORTS TO: Director of Nursing ServicesSUPERVISES: FSLA STATUS: Non-Exempt, HourlyJOB SUMMARYAdministers prescribed medications to residents and maintains related medical records under supervision of Nurse.
Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS1.
Verifies identity of resident receiving medication and records name of drug, dosage, and time of administration on specified forms or records.2.
Presents medication to resident and observes ingestion or other application, or administers medication, using specified processes.3.
Takes vital signs or observes resident to detect response to specified types of medications and prepares report or notifies designated personnel of unexpected reactions.4.
Documents reasons prescribed drugs are not administered.OTHER DUTIES1.
May receive supply of ordered medications and apportion, mix, or assemble drugs for administration to resident.2.
May record and restock medication inventories.3.
Other duties as assigned appropriate to the position.4.
May work as a NAC as needed.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES1.
Demonstrated ability to communicate in English (reading, writing, speaking, and comprehending) in order to understand, plan, and carry out care plans and treatments.EDUCATION, LICENSURE, AND EXPERIENCE1.
Certification in the state of employment as a Certified Nursing Assistant for one year.2.
