Medical Assistant II- ($3K Sign On Bonus)

Providence is calling a Medical Assistant (0.9 FTE, Days) to our Walk-in Clinic at Providence Medical Group in Monroe, WA. We are a community of caregivers delivering every day on our Mission to provide compassionate care that is accessible to all – especially those who are poor and vulnerable.

$3K Sign On Bonus

We offer a $3,000 sign on bonus for external candidates (0.75FTE and above) and a MA Career Pathways Program to develop and promote our Medical Assistants.

MA Career Pathways Program:

Our MA Career Pathway Program is designed to grow, develop and certify our caregivers to improve the patient experience. We know our Medical Assistants are an integral component of our clinic teams in delivering compassionate and affordable health care. This program is designed to expand their knowledge and recognize the abilities with four (4) increasing levels of skill that build your clinical acumen. Our program offers educational platforms with hours of materials, increasing responsibility for learning how a clinic operates and opportunities to explore what being a leader at Providence means.

The MA II works under the delegation of a licensed practitioner to perform duties as directed to assist in providing patient care to assigned patients. A MA II performs all aspects of the MA I role and is fully competent in the clinical needs/functions for assigned clinic/location of work. An MA II is expected to perform in accordance with established policies, procedures, and regulations.

In this position you will:

  • Performs all duties and passed competency testing/evaluation as required for a Medical Assistant I.
  • Ability to perform all front and back office skills as appropriate to role and certification. (ex: vital signs, set up/assist with minor procedures, EKG, blood pressure, point of care testing, patient authorizations, scheduling, etc.)
  • Performs increasingly advanced procedures with validated competencies.
  • Provides accurate, complete, legible and timely documentation of all procedures performed in the patient’s medical record.
  • Follows correct procedures for handling and disposing of biohazardous, infectious, and pharmaceutical waste.
  • According to organizational standards, prepare, clean and sterilize, and/or reprocess, instruments (autoclaving) and maintain equipment with validated competencies.
  • Anticipate and proactively plan for practitioner and patient needs.
  • Demonstrates a commitment to education and sharing of knowledge. Assists in orientation of new team members and serves as a role model of best practices to others.
  • Provides open and timely communication and information to patients, families, and practitioners (as appropriate).
  • Provides MA administrative and clinical support required to deliver quality patient care via a telehealth or virtual visit platform as an extension of in-clinic services and patient care strategy.
  • Consistently meet skill based competency expectations established for the organization.
  • Promote the mission, vision, and values of the organization and serve as an ambassador for the organization when interfacing with anyone outside the organization.

Qualifications:

Required qualifications for this position include:

  • H.S. Diploma or GED and graduate of accredited school for medical assistants, or an equivalent combination of coursework, experience/training to qualify to sit for the WA State Certification exam
  • 6 months of Healthcare experience
  • 6 months of Medical Assistant experience
  • Required upon hire (WA State Only): active MA-C in state of WA
  • Required upon hire: Current BLS – Must be AHA accredited

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Graduate of accredited school for medical assistants, or an equivalent combination of coursework, experience/training to qualify to sit for the WA State Certification exam
  • Preferred upon hire (WA State): Active National certification/registration by AMCA, AAMA, AMT, NHA, NCCT, or NAHP as a Medical Assistant
