Medical Lab Technician

This is a Contract position in Federal Way, WA posted November 15, 2020.

– Clinical Lab Hours: 7:30-6:00p or 8:00-6:30 In this Medical Lab Technician role, located inour Federal Way clinic, you willprovide information for diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease by conducting medical laboratory tests, procedures, experiments, and analyses.

This is a 4/10 position, working Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Qualifications: This position requires a background in one or more of the following laboratory disciplines: chemistry, hematology, microbiology, phlebotomy, blood bank, and biological sciences and an understanding of quality control concepts and general laboratory techniques.

The ability to attend to detail, strong organizational skills, the ability to work under stressful working conditions, understanding of laboratory safety issues, excellent communication skills, and accurate documentation.

Also the position requires an understanding of healthcare regulations, good interpersonal, teamwork, problem solving skills, data entry and computer operation skills, and critical judgment skills.

An Associates degree in Applied Arts and Sciences is required.

A newly graduated Medical Laboratory Technician may be hired with the requirement that if they do not pass an accredited Registry Exam for Medical Laboratory Technician within 6 months of hire, their employment will end.

A Registration with the American Society of Clinical Pathologist
– MLT (ASCP) or equivalent is required for this position.

After a sufficient orientation period, each Medical Laboratory Technologist must be able to competently perform all testing procedures and processes as outlined in the Procedure Manual(s) in the laboratory section(s) in which they will be performing testing.

A valid MA-Phlebotomy certificate with the Washington State Department of Health-Quality Assurance Office is required for this position.

After a sufficient orientation period, each Medical Laboratory Technologist must be able to competently perform all specimen collection and processing procedures as outlined in the Specimen Collection and Processing Procedure Manual(s).

Experience preferred, but not required.
