OCCUPATIONAL THERAPISTFull-time Posting Number:HR046107Posting Date:May 7, 2021Date Available: ImmediatelyPosition Summary:The Occupational Therapist (OT) provides patient care through assessment, treatment, planning, implementation, education, communication, and demonstration of leadership to meet patient needs.
This position works closely with the medical staff of Three Rivers Hospital to determine care plans for patients and is an important part of the rehabilitation and treatment of patients with chronic conditions, acute injuries, and physically and/or psychologically disabled patients.Essential Job Duties:Plans and administers occupational therapy treatments prescribed by a physician to patients with physical and/or psychological disabilities.
The OT provides therapy services that will restore function, improve mobility, relieve pain, and prevent or limit permanent physical disabilities of patients with impairments.
The positions work closely with patients and clients to restore, maintain, and promote their overall fitness and wellness.
Patients may include accident victims and individuals with disabling conditions such as head injuries, strokes, and cerebral palsy.
The OT oversees the hospitals inpatient swing bed program by evaluating newly admitted patients to swing bed, creating, and managing the plan of care, and providing directives for nursing staff for each swing bed patient.
This position practices in the hospital and/or clinic setting for inpatient and/or outpatient care.
Close contact with patients, staff, and families is often required.
Other duties as position requires.Qualifications:A minimum of a bachelors degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited/AOTA approved Occupational Therapy program is required.
This position requires that the physical therapy studies be accredited by the APTA.
Washington State Occupational Therapy license must be current.
Two years work experience preferred but not required.
Basic computer skills.
BLS required.
Must have strong interpersonal skills (needed when orienting patients about their modes of treatment) and have strong interaction with patients and their families as well together with their desire for the immediate recovery of the patient.
