Pharmacy Technician

Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital

This is a Full-time position in Yakima, WA posted March 12, 2021.

ROLE SUMMARY The Pharmacy Technician performs technical duties within the Pharmacy, except those that are legally the Pharmacist#s sole responsibility. # Essential Responsibilities, include: 1. Maintains records and assures accountability of all controlled substances. 2. Assists with inventory management, medication and supply ordering. 3. Practices excellent customer service when answering phone calls; respectfully problem solves to address customer needs. # Outpatient Duties, include: 4. Assists with the filling of outpatient prescriptions accurately, and processes billing correctly. 5. Coordinates activities such as third-party billing, Technician training, accounts receivable reconciliation and (if applicable) refill authorization. # Inpatient Duties, include: 6. Prepares unit dose medications with accurate labeling and documentation, according to department policy. 7. Processes reports and cart fills for automated dispensing devices (AcuDose, Robot, Connect Rx and Narc Station) accurately and according to department policy. 8. Prepares IV admixtures aseptically, timely, accurately with proper labeling and documentation per department policy. # QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS Education:##High school diploma or GED equivalent required. Graduate of an accredited Pharmacy Technician program. Experience: Inpatient Pharmacy Technician experience preferred.
