General duties that apply to all personnel or across certain labor categories are given below.Maintain a level of productivity comparable with that of other individuals performing similar services.Participate in peer review and performance improvement activities.Practice aseptic techniques as necessary. Comply with infection control guidelines to include the proper handling, storage, and disposal of infectious wastes, and the use of universal precautions to prevent the spread of infection.Function with an awareness and application of safety procedures.Perform efficiently in emergency patient situations following established protocols, remaining calm, informing appropriate persons, and documenting events. Anticipate potential problems/emergencies and make appropriate interventions. Notify supervisor, director, or other designated person regarding problems that the HCW is unable to manage.Apply an awareness of legal issues in all aspects of patient care and strive to manage situations in a reduced risk manner.Participate in the implementation of the Family Advocacy Program as directed. Participation shall include, but not be limited to, appropriate medical examination, documentation, and reporting.Exercise awareness and sensitivity to patient/significant others’ rights, as identified within the MTF.Maintain an awareness of responsibility and accountability for own professional practice.Participate in continuing education to meet own professional growth.Attend and/or comply with all annual training classes required by the Command, to include but not limited to online annual training provided by the MTF: disaster training, infection control, Sexual Harassment, Bloodborne Pathogens, Fire and Safety, Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear and Explosives (CBRNE), and all other required training.Actively participate in the command’s Performance Improvement Program. Participate in meetings to review and evaluate the care provided to patients, identify opportunities to improve the care delivered, and recommend corrective action when problems exist.Participate in the provision of in-service training to clinic staff members. Provide training and/or direction as applicable to supporting government employees (e.g., hospital corpsmen, students, etc.).Attend and participate in various meetings as directed.Perform timely, accurate, and concise documentation of patient care.Operate and manipulate automated systems such as CHCS, AHLTA, ADS,Essentris, MHS Genesis, and Clinical Information System (CIS), participate in clinical staff Performance Improvement (PI) and Risk Management (RM) functions, as prescribed by the Commander. Maintain DOD email account as directed. The HCW shall be responsive to all email and voicemail communications.Exercise appropriate delegation of tasks and duties in the direction and coordination of health care team members, patient care, and clinic activities.Maintain documentation of all treatment provided in accordance with clinicdirectives, andprepare such records and reports as may be required. All records and reports must be legible. Abbreviations must be only those listed in local instructions.Services provided under this contract shall be performed in accordance with all DoD, Navy, and local MTF guidelines and reporting requirements and in accordance with the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) guiding principles.Assist support staff in the maintenance of department equipment and supplies. Report equipment malfunctions and supply needs immediately to Department Leading Petty Officer.Support Occupational/Physical Therapist Technicians by providing periodic training and guidance as required to promulgate the educational needs of the technicians and to also enhance patient care.Maintain documentation of all treatment provided in accordance with clinicdirectives, andprepare such records and reports as may be required. All records and reports must be legible. Abbreviations must be only those listed in local instructions.Dictate initial evaluations and verify the content and correctness of all prepared and transcribed reports within two working days by affixing an original signature to all copies of the document and validating its content or by computer input as appropriate.Minimum Qualifications:Degree: Master’s degree in physical therapy or Baccalaureate degree in physical therapy for graduates prior to January 1, 2002.Education: Graduate from a college or university approved by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE).Experience: As required to meet clinical competency requirements specified in the Service-specific credentialing instructions.Licensure: Current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice as a physical therapist in one of the fifty states.Certifications: BLS, ACLS, and PALSCitizenship: U.S. citizenship.Credentialing: Ability to pass background check and drug screen.Current physical and immunizations.Preferred Qualifications: Previous experience working with the military population.Work Location, Hours, and Physical Requirements:Physical Requirements:Youmust be on the premises toperformthe job. The environment is fast-paced and multifaceted, with conditions and duties that can change quickly throughout a shift.Possess the physical ability to move patients and equipment.Hours:Services shall be provided Monday through Friday, between the hours of 0600 and 1800 hours. Shifts will normally be scheduled for an8.5 or9 hourperiod, to include an uncompensated30 to 60 minutelunch break, respectively.The HCW may provide services 0600 and 1800 on Saturdays and Sundays. Historical data indicates the number of Contractor weekend assignments is approximately four (4) instances during the period of performance of the task order, at a frequency of less than or equal to one weekend per month.In no instance will the HCW be required to provide services in excess of 80 hours per two-week period. An alternate work schedule within the assigned clinic hours may be authorized uponmutualwritten agreement between the government supervisor and the HCW.Schedule:Specific days, hours, and shiftlengthwill be scheduled by the designated government representative.The specific schedule for each two-week period will be provided 1 month in advance by the government supervisor or designee.Any planned absencesofthe HCW shall be communicated to the government supervisor in advance. At the mutual agreement of the contractor and the Government, alternative schedules may be implemented such as a compressed work schedule. Any changesinthe scheduleshallbe coordinated between the HCW and the government. Any planned absencesofthe HCW shall be communicated to the government supervisor in advance of the absence.
