Virginia Mason: Physician – Nhl Medical Director And Team Physician

Job Number: 200818 Department: DT Sports Med Ortho Hours: VariableVirginia Mason Medical Center in Seattle, Washington is recruiting a Board Certified Physician to join our Sports Medicine Team as the NHL Medical Director and Team Physician.

Position Description The successful candidate will assume the role as Medical Director and Team Physician for NHL Seattle, the new hockey team set to begin play in the 2021-2022 season.

The Medical Director will spend a certain proportion of their clinical practice time devoted to team-related duties during the NHL season including: oversight of the entire medical group providing care to NHL Seattle, interfacing with athletic trainers and other NHL Seattle personnel, coordination of pre-and post-season team-related medical needs, provision of game-day medical care for NHL Seattle, as well as the visiting club.

The Medical Director will also provide oversight of concussion management for the team.

Club-related travel will be limited to away playoff games only.As a Virginia Mason Sports Medicine Physician, you will also have a primary clinical role with our non-athlete sports medicine patients.

Potential locations could be Downtown Seattle and/or other Regional Medical Center locations.Qualifications: BC in General Internal Medicine or Family Medicine with subspecialty BC in Sports Medicine Previous experience working with athletes at the professional or NCAA Division I level.

Preference will be given to those candidates with experience working with hockey teams.
