Description The Washington State Department of Veterans Affairs is pleased to announce the recruitment for our** **Registered Nurse 2 position at our Washington Soldiers Home (WSH), a skilled nursing facility.

This job is located at the Washington Soldiers Home, located in Orting, near Puyallup.

**This position works from 10:00 pm to 6:30 am with Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday off.

WDVA operates four veterans’ homes in Port Orchard, Orting, Spokane, and Walla Walla providing Medicare and Medicaid nursing care for honorably discharged veterans, to include, in some instances, their spouses, widows or gold star parents.

Duties **_Some of what you will be doing: _** Under direction supervision of a physician or supervising nurse, and in accordance with current standards of practice, functions as a responsible licensed member of a health care team.

**_Key Responsibilities:_** Prepares, carries out, evaluates, and revises treatment plans for individual residents based on recommendations of a physician.

Under physicians’ orders, passes medications, administer, monitor and record treatments, and assesses the condition of the resident.

Makes nursing assessments of residents as necessitated by the condition of the resident, and on a quarterly basis for the completion of the minimum data set (MDS).

Direct and supervise subordinate nursing personnel.

Qualifications **_Required Qualifications: _** Current and valid Washington State License to practice as a Registered Nurse.

**_Preferred Qualifications:_** Long term care experience.

One year experience as a RN.

Supplemental Information **_CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:_** Prior to a new hire, a background check including criminal record history will be conducted.

Must comply with health screening requirements by undergoing a tuberculosis skin test.
