RN Clinic Certified Specialist – Madison Cardiology

Description:

Find what you’re looking for in your career at PacMed as a Registered Nurse (RN) Clinic (0.6 FTE, Days) to work in Madison Cardiology in Seattle, WA.

Provides professional nursing care as directed by the Washington State Nurse Practice Act and Pacific Medical Centers policies, procedures, and protocols, i.e., provides primary and specialty health care services in collaboration with other members of the health care team while integrating clinical, teaching, consulting, care coordination/case management, and leadership nursing roles. Utilizes a systematic approach to nursing practice, incorporating the principles of Nursing Process when delivering care. Provides care requiring specialized skills, experience, knowledge, and demonstrated competency.

In this position you will:

  • Hematology/Oncology Clinical Role:
  • Assesses patient needs, develops a plan of care, delivers direct care, evaluates outcome of care, and adjusts plan and subsequent interventions accordingly.
  • Administers medications within the scope of registered nursing practice.
  • Hematology/Oncology Teaching Role:
  • Conducts comprehensive educational assessments, matches teaching methods to defined learning objectives, and develops teaching plans for individual patients and target population groups.
  • Instructs patients individually or in-groups, using a variety of methods, reinforcement and review.
  • Hematology/Oncology Consulting Nurse Role:
  • Triages patients, both in-person and by phone, to ensure timely access to appropriate health care services.
  • Provides medical information, advice and health care teaching to patients and their families in person and via the telephone.
  • Hematology/Oncology Care Coordination/Case Management Role:
  • Functions as a liaison between patients, providers and community agencies; obtains support services for patients (i.e., nursing homes, home health care agencies, visiting services and other community agencies).
  • Facilitates transition of patients from outpatient to hospital, skilled nursing facility, emergency, and/or home care services.
  • Hematology/Oncology Leadership Role:
  • Coaches, instructs and role models for designated health care team workers.
  • Delegates clinical and non-clinical tasks to designated health care team members according to Pacific Medical Centers approved scope of practice guidelines.

Qualifications:

Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Nursing degree (Baccalaureate, Associate or Diploma) from an accredited school of nursing.
  • 1 year of recent RN experience in a patient care setting
  • 3 years of additional for Cardiovascular: Recent experience in a setting treating cardiac patients
  • Additional for Cardiovascular: Recent critical care experience – ICU, surgery, or ED
  • Additional for Cardiovascular: ACLS Certification
  • Currently licensed to practice in Washington State
  • Basic Life Support certification within 3 months of hire

Preferred qualifications for this position include :

  • 2 years of recent RN experience in a patient care setting
  • Recent experience in an out-patient setting
  • Additional for Cardiovascular: Prior experience with general Cardiology, Pacemaker Checks, Holter reading, Stress Test (Dobutamine and Nuclear)
  • Additional for Cardiovascular: CCRN Certification
  • Additional for Cardiovascular: ACCN Certification
