RN Oncology Clinic – Outpatient Infusion Services

Providence is calling a Registered Nurse (0.8 FTE, Days) to work in Outpatient Infusion Services at Providence Centralia Hospital in Lacey, WA

The Registered Nurse is accountable for the delivery and supervision of safe, quality care and follows the nursing process in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation). The Registered Nurse is accountable for delegating selected functions to members of the health care team, supervising others to whom he/she has delegated nursing functions and evaluating outcomes of care provided by the health care team. The Registered Nurse is a leader of the oncology health care team with a comprehensive educational background in the nursing process to include patient and family teaching. The Registered Nurse also has leadership skills which enable him/her to delegate, and coordinate the nursing care provided in an oncology outpatient setting. The Registered Nurse assists in orientation, training, and education of personnel.

In this position you will:

  • Assists in the coordination and delivery of all aspects chemotherapy and non-chemotherapy treatments, and implements safe, therapeutic patient specific care.
  • Participates in teaching, and is a resource person to patients, families, new employees, residents, and student nurses.
  • Within the framework of the nursing process uses independent judgment and initiative to plan the clinical outcomes. Identifies patient needs and establishes plans of care accordingly.
  • Supports the development of the patient care team by serving as the primary source of information for patient care team members.
  • Appropriately identifies and solves problems.
  • Supports continuous quality improvement initiatives to increase quality of patient care.
  • Performs other nursing duties and responsibilities.
  • Assumes charge nurse responsibilities (if applicable). Administers, directs, and prioritizes staff activities.
  • Provides care appropriate to the patient population (Adult and Older Adult).

Qualifications:

Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Graduate in Nursing from an NLN accredited program
  • Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Washington.
  • Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (AHA BLS) Certification.

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • 2 years of RN experience
  • Chemotherapy administration experience.
  • ONS Certification
