Human Resources Generalist

Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories

This is a Contract position in Pullman, WA posted November 6, 2020.

As an HR generalist you will have the opportunity to solve complex problems, support employees, and partner with leadership. If this sounds like the right role for you please apply!Essential Duties and Responsibilities1. Facilitate meetings to resolve issues. Provide objective feedback, make recommendations on issues as appropriate for both individual employee and managers.2. Counsel employees and management by interpreting company culture, values and policy, and employment law promptly and accurately.3. Maintain legal documentation.4. Work with management to help draft and supply updated and useful information such as reports, relevant policies, and/or disciplinary documents.5. Actively source and recruit, interview, and hire employees.6. Support Human Resources training efforts.7. Supervise and mentor other staff as needed.8. Define and follow area processes.9. Continuously identify, measure, and improve processes.10. Other duties as assigned.11. Understand, create, simplify processes.Required QualificationsB.A. or B.S. degree in Human Resources or related fieldMinimum of four years experience within Human Resources or a related fieldSolid knowledge of employment law and legal hiring practices and proceduresExcellent listening, interviewing and interpersonal skillsStrong analytical ability and problem resolution skillsSkills in investigating and successfully resolving Employee Relations situationsAbility to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate discretion in handling sensitive information and dataProficient knowledge of MS Office and familiarity with an HRIS system and processesStrong writing, documentation, and speaking skillsAbility to learn new skills and assume new responsibilitiesAbility to work cooperatively in a team environmentBackground check results satisfactory to SELNegative drug test result(s)Preferred QualificationsPHR/SPHR and/or SHRM certificationHR Generalist ExperienceLocation InformationPullman, WA- SEL’s corporate office is located in Eastern Washington where you’ll enjoy an unmatched quality of life.
