Payroll/Personnel Office Clerk

Twin City Foods, Inc

This is a Contract position in Ellensburg, WA posted November 30, 2020.

General Purpose of Job:

Support the HR Manager on key functions for the hourly employees, to include payroll, receptionist duties, maintaining personnel files and accounts payable for plant.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Enter and process payroll in Kronos for the plant, semi-truck drivers, waste water and Royal City Ag Center.
Process, sort and distribute paychecks for hourly employees.
Process garnishments, track medical and other deductions.
Manage and track union dues for all employees, including new hire enrollments and make union dues payment requests.
Complete employee verifications for all hourly employees.
Answer questions regarding company policies and procedures.
Set up and maintain employee files, including attendance records.
Keep track of vacation and sick hours for regular employees.
Enter employee warnings, terms and leaves of absences.
Call employees with their scheduled start times each day.
Maintain accurate knowledge of union contract and different bracketed wages.
Set-up new hire packets and assist in hiring of plant employees, including interviews, drug testing, I-9 verifications and orientations.
Train any seasonal office help in payroll, reception and/or personnel duties.
Order supplies for plant personnel
Create purchase orders and scan bills to A/P folder for corporate authorization to pay bills.
Operate switchboard; answer, screen and forward calls, provide information and take messages.
Greet people entering the establishment, determine the nature and purpose of the visit, and direct them to the specific destination.
Perform clerical support to the Division Manager, HR manager, Plant Manager and other.
Provide information about TCF, such as location of offices, employees within the organization, and services provided.
Sort and distribute mail to appropriate people.
Received shipments from UPS, FedEx, etc., and sort and distribute.

Knowledge, Skill and Experience Required:

One year of experience in reception/office clerical. Payroll experience desirable. Bilingual English/Spanish highly desirable.

Required Education/Training/Certification Qualifications:

High School Graduate or GED and one year of experience in reception/office clerical. Payroll experience desirable. Bilingual English/Spanish required.

Essential Physical Abilities:

The following essential functions may be performed with or without reasonable accommodation:

Sufficient clarity of speech and hearing which allows effective communications with others. Sufficient vison or other powers of observation to perform all elements of position. Sufficient range of arm movements necessary to operate a personal computer and related equipment. Sufficient ability to handle paper files and reports weighing up to 20 lbs. Sufficient ability to operate Calculator, Fax, Copier, Scanner, Printer, etc.
