Reporting to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager, this role requires hands-on work and higher-level engineering project management.nn nn Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.nn Design, develop, test, and implement new production fixtures, assembly jigs, and test equipment Develop tooling or automation for manual processes including repetitive assembly tasks, injection mold hand loading, de-gating, and tube thermoforming Write work instructions and train production personnel Work collaboratively with the Manufacturing Engineering team to deliver safe, effective and ergonomic equipment and tooling solutions to the Production floor.

Complete documentation packages for fixtures and equipment using Solidworks Mentor other members of the engineering staff on best-practices for developing manufacturing automation.

nn nn nn Education/Experience nn Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Plastics Engineering, or related field.

nn n nn nn Certificates and Licenses nn Master Molding Certification a plus nn nn nn Qualifications nn nn The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

nn Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Plastics Engineering, or related field 5+ years of work experience in a manufacturing/industrial environment Specific experience designing for tooling, fixtures, and some automation in a manufacturing environment is required.

Knowledge of electrical controls, actuators, motors, and pneumatics Excellent SolidWorks skills Candidates must be comfortable interfacing with production operators, technicians, vendors and internal customers.

Excellent communication, interpersonal, project management, and analytical skills are required for this role.

nn Desired skills nn Programming knowledge (Labview, PLC, Python, C++, etc,) as related to manufacturing automation and test equipment is a plus.

The ideal candidate will have direct experience designing and implementing robotic-based automation and end-of-arm tooling for plastics injection molding.
