The Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS), Space and Launch Division is seeking an Experienced System Engineer (Level 3) to support the team in Puget Sound, WA.

The position provides an opportunity to work with an experienced, interdisciplinary team to develop a unique system to meet challenging requirements on a dynamic development program.

Along with this program the Puget Sound site supports a large portfolio of products including commercial airplanes, and military commercial derivatives.

The Space and Launch Team creates the next generation products and services for the BDS business unit.

We work with proprietary customers in the development of the next-generation technologies in space.

Our team focuses on rapid prototyping to demonstrate a host of mission-focused technologies for a variety of customers.

Our group works all facets of engineering from technology investment, concept development, proposal writing, requirements and design, build, integration, test, and demonstration of products in their relevant environments.

This is a union represented position.

Position Overview: The Experienced System Engineer will be a part of a high-performing team that are immersed in high intensity development projects.

As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the development of our innovative technology in an agile environment.

As an Experienced System Engineer you will be responsible for the development and documentation for concept of operations studies and orbital analysis of a space application.

Position Responsibilities: Lead and oversee execution of efforts to include planning, scoping, development, testing, analysis, implementation, schedule and reporting.

Develop new and modify existing M& S tools to be integratedin to a large simulation suite using MATLAB, STK, AFSIM or other simulation tool.

Utilize new and current tools to conduct statistically-based analysis.

Develop observations and recommendations, based on data, that will be presented to senior leadership.

Exercise critical thinking and innovative problem solving.

Work in a fast paced and dynamic environment.

Collaborate with small teams of 5-10 people and provide support to other teams as dictated by mission needs.

Work with customers, Boeing leadership, and software & systems engineers to translate high level customer requirements into specific work packages and detailed hardware & software requirements.

Support new business pursuits including white papers and proposals.

Mentor and coach junior engineers.

Work Authorization: This position requires an active U.S.

Top Secret Security Clearance (US Citizenship required).

(A U.S.

Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active).

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience): Bachelor’s, Master’s or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience): Experience or knowledge of mission level analysis tools, such as STK or other simulation tools.

Experience working in space domain or with space related topics.

Typical Education and Experience: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in computer science (e.G.

Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.G.

PhD, Master 3 years ‘ related work experience).

In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
