Business Intelligence – Database Developer

Summary of Position The BI-DB Developer will be responsible for designing and maintaining the data warehouse structure and transforming data into information used to drive important strategic and operational business decisions. This position will be working primarily with MS SQLAzure Data Warehouse, MS-SQLAzure SQL Database, PowerBI, and SSRS, as well as designs data warehouses, data marts, ETLs, and builds dashboards and reports that are distributed throughout the organization and external partners and customers. Essential Functions Building ETL pipeline on Azure Databricks Data Modeling and Data Cleansing of IOT data to build data warehouse Building metrics, dashboards and reports for leadership and product teams Participate in design, development, and analysis of data architecture and warehousing approaches Create, monitor, modify and troubleshoot necessary ETL processes needed by the BI projects Analyze data to ensure information is accurate and reconcilable to its source of origin Audits, reviews, and validates databases to ensure data integrity Ensure proper change and version control for code and reports Identifies, communicates, and resolves data quality and data reconciliation issues Develops and enforces standards and procedures for the storage and retrieval of institutional data Protects our organization’s confidential information Create and maintain the documentation for each business unit s data model and ETL processes Monitor and troubleshoot existing BI applications, including frameworks, cubes, and reports and ensure the availability of the systems for the end-users Communicates regularly with technical, applications, and operational staff to ensure database integrity, security, and optimized performance at the application and database level Design, build, enhance, and maintain PowerBI and SSRS reports and dashboards working from specification documents andor direct interaction with business users Write SQL Server queries and stored procedures to populate reporting datasets Decipher existing reports and database processes to assist users and owners in understanding reports Foster a collaborative culture that facilitates the achievement of business plan objectives by working closely with other associates and members of management Participate in special projects as needed Perform additional assignments as required by the needs of the company or as directed by management Competencies Ensures Accountability Tech Savvy Communicates Effectively Values Differences Customer Focus Resourcefulness Drives Results Plans and Prioritizes Decision Quality Self-Development Work Environment This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines. Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee in this position frequently communicates with other co-workersclients who have inquiries about the various projects and other needs. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations. The employee must be able to remain in a stationary position 75 of the time. The employee in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc. Constantly operate a computer and office machinery such as a calculator, keyboard, copy machine, and printer. Frequently moves boxes with equipment weighing up to 25lbs across the building andor to other offsite buildings for various project needs. Required Education and Experience Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems or related field 3-5 years of experience Qualifications Minimum 3-5years of experience in business intelligence and data warehousing environments Experience with Data warehousing methodologies and modelling techniques Experience building graphs and charts to communicate information.
