DevOps Engineer (Phantom Works)

Boeing Defense, Space and Security is seeking a DevOps Engineer in the Puget Sound area in support of multiple Phantom Works programs. The position provides an opportunity work with an experienced, interdisciplinary team to develop unique systems to meet challenging requirements on dynamic development programs. Boeing Phantom Works creates the next generation products and services for the Boeing Defense, Space & Security business. We work with proprietary customers in the development of the next-generation technologies in space. Phantom Works focuses on rapid prototyping to demonstrate a host of mission-focused technologies for a variety of customers. Our group works all facets of engineering from technology investment, concept development, proposal writing, requirements and design, build, integration, test, and demonstration of products in their relevant environments. Position Responsibilities: As a DevOps Engineer you will work in a team to develop the environment and infrastructure necessary to power the Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) model for multiple product releases. Speed and automation improvements are critical as we have multiple development teams and integration teams supporting multiple customers and projects. DevOps Engineers have the opportunities to collaborate across Engineering, Information Technology, and Quality Assurance team boundaries to implement the tools and processes needed to accelerate innovation for the organization. Manage, maintain and monitor the automated build processes Create and document release packages Configure and Control release packages Maintain the software and hardware configuration of our Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) test set Maintain software baseline across our classified and unclassified development Facilitate software change control board (CCB) This position requires an active Top Secret U.S. Security Clearance. (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.) Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience): BS degree in engineering, computer science, physic or related technical field 5 years or more of experience on aerospace platforms or similar highly regulated products Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience): Experience with Linux system administration Experience with JIRA, Confluence, BitBucket, Artifactory, Jenkins, CMake, GTest Experience with scripting languages such as Perl, Python, C/C++ Experience working on a DevOps team Administration experience with tools for CI/CD, bug tracking, version control, and build automation Experience applying source code branching strategies and patterns Demonstrated critical thinking and troubleshooting skills Experience working across multiple disciplines in a rapid development environment Prior history working in a classified environment SSBI investigation highly desired Typical Education/Experience: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master3 years’ related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard. Relocation Assistance: This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.
