Responsibilities The DoD Data Scientist has experience with hands on work with both unstructured and structured data with advanced problems and modeling on classified and unclassified programs and projects. Interprets results from multiple sources using a variety of techniques, ranging from simple data aggregation via statistical analysis to complex data mining independently. Assists in the design, and development of data centric solutions for the organization. Prepares big data for analysis, implements data models and develops database to support the business solutions. Works on complex technical projects or DoD issues. Qualifications The DoD Data Scientist role requires 5 or more years in data analytics or related field. Familiarity with the manipulation of unstructured data in a data analytics environment, and the use of open-source tools, cloud computing, machine learning and data visualization. The ability to use/code in a language applicable to the project or task order such as Apache, Hadoop, Python, and advanced knowledge of machine learning. Minimum Education Requirements: Requires an bachelor’s degree in a relevant field of data analytics. Desired: – Knowledge of DoD Data Standards such as the Air Force Data Services Reference Architecture. – Experience supporting either the DoD Chief Data or Chief Software Offices – Air Force PlatformONE or CloudONE experience Additional Requirements The successful candidate must not be subject to employment restrictions from a former employer (such as a non-compete) that would prevent the candidate from performing the job responsibilities as described.
