As a Lead Software Engineer on our Launch Engineering team, you will bring a broad experience of successfully ideating and delivering value that enables Nike to increase productivity, realize efficiencies and build profitable customer experiences. You will be responsible for building simple and intuitive APIs’ for a very large developer community within Nike. Interest and experience in the latest methodologies goes a long way here and we’re looking for people who are passionate about the world of value-driven solution delivery. You’ll get to work alongside truly talented teams and help them enhance their performance by promoting collaboration and innovation. What you’ll do: Work in a fast-paced agile environment Work in true DevOps fashion owning the entire tech stack Solve big engineering challenges to serve our worldwide athletes at scale Build Nike’s data privacy vision for today’s data driven world Grow and keep our APIs fast, efficient, available Collaborate with other amazing engineers to power the most exciting digital experiences for athletes on the market What we’re looking for: 5 years of experience writing Restful APIs 2 years of technical leadership experience leading a 5-8 person dev team Proven track record of leading large enterprise scale engineering efforts Expert level experience writing software in Node.js or Java. Node.js preferred Expert knowledge of architectural patterns of a large, high-scale web application (e.g., well-designed APIs, high volume data pipelines, efficient algorithms) Proven ability to produce high quality software that is unit tested, code reviewed, and checked in regularly for continuous integration. Experience solving difficult engineering challenges using tools from the AWS tech stack including, but not limited to VPC, DynamoDB, Kinesis, s3, Lambda, APIGateway, Route 53, ec2, Cloudwatch etc. Strong communication skills and great product sense Passion for sports NIKE, Inc. is a growth company that looks for team members to grow with it.
