REMOTE Android Mobile Developer

An employer is looking for an Android Mobile Developer to support their Mobile and TV Apps Team.

This person will address pain points such as: applications loading a webpage, user experience, and internal tools requiring bug fixes working with compliance and privacy teams, ad teams, and web and mobile teams.

This resource will develop using Kotlin and Java on Android platforms.

The main priority will be closing tickets and clearing the backlog.

Other responsibilities will include:n nWork with a team to design and implement native mobile apps for Android platformsn nWrite efficient, reliable, and maintainable code whether implementing architectural improvements, user-facing features, or fixing defectsn nTroubleshoot and resolve issues, problems, and errors encountered across our various platformsn nAnalyze and optimize application code for efficiency, reliability and performancen nUnderstand product architecture, assisting the Software Architects as necessaryn nWork with minimal technical supervision and supplemental engineering supportn nEmbrace a highly collaborative team that rewards quality code and effective communicationn nStay current with the latest development best practicesn nLead design and code reviews n n Minimum Requirements n nDemonstrated ability in developing complex, high-traffic Android applicationsn nA minimum of 5 years hands-on professional development experience with Kotlin, Javan nExperience with and solid understanding of multithreaded programming and API layer programmingn nExperience working on a significant consumer app that is currently available in marketplacen nDemonstrated experience developing applications leveraging XML/JSONn nSolid understanding of data models and data access architecture and optimizationn nSolid understanding of multi-tier web architectures, and OO design patterns and conceptsn nSolid understanding of server side software, scalability, performance, and reliabilityn nA sound understanding of HTTP and REST-style web services is required.n nExperience with unit test frameworks and continuous integration systemsn nAbility to collaborate in a small, productive development team as well as ability to work independentlyn nExpert in software engineering best practicesn nExperience building mobile SDK’sn nExperience with agile software development practice, scrum, sprint planning, retrospectives, etc.
